I don't know why you are "ackshually"ing that. I was well aware. the point was they didn't go in that direction.

Instead they did beast wars. which while had fans, killed the franchise. alien planet, animals, "descendants", no humans. stupid.

Admittedly, don't read the comics. no idea where that storyline went.

looking at the list. It looks like after beast wars there was lots of reboots. and then, movies based on the comic books.

I can’t see it on that list but I vaguely remember an episode where Cobra Commander appeared.

Or the kids that grew up on Transformers G1 from 84 onwards were too old to be interested in Beast Wars (and also turned off by its recycling of character names etc, not being g1 etc) and younger kids had TMNT, Power Rangers etc to interest them?

Wasn’t quite as adult as the 80’s movie but the trailers didn’t do it justice.

I really enjoyed how they did Megatron.

No real woke shit other than Elita 1 girl bossing a little but she actually gave Optimus a pep talk that I felt seemed more like she was supporting him as the leader.

My 5 year old transformer crazed kid loved it. It was really good frankly. I left sad it’s bombing because I’m up for seeing more.

Yep, it's sad it's bombing as it's a genuinely good film, actually LOL at a few points, "I'm going to go cut those guys!"

Sharing the same sentiments. Some of those laughs hit a lot harder than expected.

My kid was wearing a Bumblebee shirt and came out and told this high school kid that was his name in that kid fake deep voice. I laughed internally. Gonna have to nix that before school.

Really excellent. Just a great movie for young boys with no wokester nonsense. There's a bossy (not girl boss) over-achieving-teacher's-pet female type, but that personality resonates with school aged boys and has been around since the 80's or before.

The action sequences were sufficiently badass, and the lore was presented in really memorable epic-feeling ways. I could feel the whole thing imprinting on my 6 year old in that way you know he'll always remember. The themes were heavily saturated with Western values on the nature of justice, personal responsibility and growth, and the pitfalls of over emotionality, greed, and vengeance. Star Wars-esque, and borderline Christian. Ideas were presented in easy to understand ways, often through direct juxtaposition, and characters moved through their arcs at a speed that ensures children can follow along.

Take your sons. Let them bring a friend. Pay for the big popcorn. Hell, go twice if they want. We should reward this type of production.

I'd say skip this and re-watch 1986 animated movie and you will be much happier.

Wife got me that lego set- it was a fun build. He has no knees but it transforms well enough for a lego build- it is very large so that is cool.

Nope. And since Best Buy stopped selling them, my collection hasn't really grown much. Every now and then I'll see something I really want, so I buy 5 from Amazon, only to return 4 and keep the best quality one.
