Not to mention the director already said they didn't realize it was there. They just put random art of children on the walls.

For fucks sake this thread... epic levels of herp derp. The show didn't follow through on the random theory I pulled out of my ass based off the formation of some fucking dolls. LOOSE ENDS, SHOW SUCKS! Get the fuck out of here.

It looks like any spiral paint thing that 'every' kid does growing up in kindergarten or whatever. The thing people are likely latching on to is thebendin the arm that looks more angular. There's probably some math nerd terminology for it. But when you glance at it and are looking for comparisons that similarity jumps out and is easy to go off to the races.

There were apparently a lot more scenes of Marty with his family - especially his daughters - but were cut out due to time constraints. Perhaps these scenes would have cleared up the confusion that she was an abused child.

However, I think her acting out due to having an inattentive and philandering father is a pretty decent explanation for her behavior.

This show isn't as highbrow as you think it is.

I never said he was the Yellow King, dumbass. When you're presented a bunch of incoherent bullshit, you can't help but theorize. Aren't you one of the assclowns faulting people for being intrigued by the daughter's dolls in a fucking show about cults, rape, and murder?

Don't put words in my mouth. Did I ever say "never"? There was no development of Marty's to make one think he would subconsciously add things to his memory to reflect what he now knows. The only hallucinations were Rust's and those were explained by the traumatic loss of his daughter and drug use while undercover.

And fuck off with hind sight. Sorry I did t participate in this shit of a thread feeeding off of others theories, by the way which people did well past episode 4.
Except that doll scene. Which very much seemed like this...to many people that watched it.

I didn't put words into your mouth. You literally said this.

Nothing infilmallows for that conclusion without explicit narration or dialogue.Film is completely different than written works in that regard. An Arthur can give the reader much more information without having a character or narrator explicitly state it.(Note how you're comparing mediums and not talking specifically about this film.)

You didn't say "nothing inTHISfilm". You said nothingIN FILM, and that's obviously false. You even went on to expound that you were speaking about"film" as a whole medium in the next sentence.I, in no way, put words into your mouth. I'm at at a loss for how you can even explain it that way.

Seriously, please explain that to me, how you use film in a general sense and then expect me to decipher it as you talking about THIS film, even though you devote two sentence comparing the entire mediums of written vs filmed work. Ironically, this does show how someone can make an obvious writing mistake and then try to blame the reader for drawing a conclusion they didn't intend.

Don't get mad, I was just wondering if you could see Texas from your high horse. Because for someone so sure he's right, you fret over how other people view things an awful lot.

I said it is a different medium and to make such conclusions, you need more information that just a fleeting scene to state that a character recalled a memory in a specific way. No where prior or after that scene does Marty's character show any signs that he would do a thing like that, in fact he is the character most likely not to do that as evident by his speeches to Rust about creating a narrative without sufficient information. You can also look at the way he tells detective Suck and Fuck about what happened with Ledoux also. Even when creating a false 'memory' he is precise and consistent in details.

All I am doing is pointing out that some people are unable to accept that they over analyzed and jumped to conclusions with little to no information. The show was always about Rust and Marty, as evident from even the first scenes when Suck and Fuck want to know everything about them (I guess particularly Rust). Saying his daughter must have been raped by a satanic cult because she played with dolls a certain way and drew shit is asinine.

You know me. I don't see the connection between two girls and a doll rape diorama.

But I'm from Russia.

Surely there can be a middle ground where people can feel a bit let down with the finale while also not having participated in the wild theory crafting. I mean seriously, it's easy to say now the series was just "Brokeback Bayou" - a tale of man love, betrayal, redemption, and child rape. But fuck man, without Carcosa, the Yellow King, and the mystery surrounding it all, the series wouldn't have hooked us all in. Some of us feel the mystery was given short shrift in the finale, that's all.
