It's mostly that, personality. I think it's also the feeling of safety. Some place where they won't be bullied, yelled at, etc. That's what I think makes them stay, whereas the latter makes them click on your stream in the first place. I mean, we can have a discussion if they are all millennial snowflakes if you want to, but they are gonna do what they are gonna do.

So I've been watching a bunch of channels lately, getting to know this Twitch thing, and one thing really strikes me. Most channels have a list of top tippers, and the amount. Now, either they are lying through their teeth, or people are dropping some serious cash on these people! I'm talking thousands of dollars in some cases. The top I've seen is some WoW chick who had two $20k donations, and dozens of $1k+ donations.

Who da fuck drops that kind of dosh on a twitch streamer?? Or am I missing the obvious and Twitch is some sort of escort advertising service, and they get something "extra" for tipping? Still, $20k? I've heard you can get a full night's service from a top of the range escort for a tenth of that amount. The mind boggles...

It happens, it seems there are a fair number of big tips that come from wealthy people overseas, then there also seems to be a fair number of children who run up those tabs on Mommies and Daddies credit cards and shit before they find out. There have been some cases where they have reversed the tips in these channels but not always. That being said I don't get it, shit I won't even pay to sub to any of this shit but I seem to be an outlier these days.

Not sure if serious with regards to that article you linked. From all I've both seen and read, young folks are screwing more than ever. Teen pregnancies (and abortions) are up, there is an "epidemic" of STDs, Tinder is turning everyone into whores. Am I living on a different planet?
