I don't watch Twitch but I do watch Wolfabelle's YT clips, she's pretty funny but I definitely preferred it when she just mashed kill on cooldown like a crazy person.

OTV PvP is dead, RP is starting to die out a bit in terms of big streamers, but there is still a pretty solid core

With NoPixel 3.0 (GTA) coming sometime in the next few weeks (until it is again pushed back), it appears a lot of the big(ger) streamers have mentioned about hoping over there again (or for the first time). Seems this OTV experiment kindof made people more interested in RP and with the numbers GTA is pulling in Twitch it only makes sense for the transition especially with a well-established (and moderated) RP server already existing.

Will be interesting seeing some of these streamers be more "forced" to actually carry a story/narrative if they hop over to GTA. I think that is kindof what is killing this OTV server, the lack of "RP" and more of a shit-show (has been said by a few of the OTV server streamers).

Wait. What tje fuck. Forced RP?

The main RP server (NoPixel) is pretty moderated and doing everything in a RP-centric way is decently enforced (you won't get banned, just lose prio as noted below). They also vet people (whole interview process; you sometimes have to PAY to get your interview prioritized) for your whitelist to play on the server. On-top of that, there is also priority spots/ranks in which are given based on RP merit (I guess you could say). The better the RP and etc, the better your priority access to LOG INTO the server. Essentially, you have to talk "in-character", follow your arc/story (that you create; such as being in a gang with other players, etc) or else you basically won't ever be able to log in due to being forced to a lower/worse priority than other people.

Pretty crazy stuff just for a RP server, but there are a lot of people that came from maybe a hundred subs or less to thousands (and some tens of thousands) purely due to that game and server, it is pretty insane. The viewer-base is also insanely hostile and toxic more than anything I've ever seen in comparison to other games, and that is also what will be it's downfall with the big streamers, the toxicity of the GTA RP viewer community.

Fanboy harder. Last I checked ESO does not have ranked PVP.

Beat on the dummy some more and pretend it means something.

I think it is to maintain a consistent viewership by maintaining consistent characters, stories, and having a standard for quality of RP? I am pretty sure watching standard GTA Online as people mindlessly just go blow up random crap and shoot people gets boring after awhile. I don't really know how to easily explain, you basically have to watch it to understand the mentality of it I guess, but their is a reason GTA is generally top 5 (usually top 3; the big GTA streamers are keeping it casual over the last few weeks due to the upcoming 3.0 where everything is wiped so a lot of them are on the OTV servers) on Twitch views. During its peak last year and 2019, it was basically #1 or #2 most viewers daily when a lot of the bigger streamers were on (Lirik, Summit, Moonmoon, Pokimane for a bit, Sodapoppin, etc).

the amount of quality streams that come from NoPixel make the vetting worth it

Agreed; I started watching when the big boom in late 2019 happened. Never thought I would enjoy this type of thing but it is entertaining as hell and a lot of the times downright hilarious.

it might be the single best background noise stream. things start getting loud, pay attention and enjoy the hilarity.
