No, with a tracking number you could see if the package was actually delivered and then file a claim with USPS and your credit card. You would have tangible proof as to whether the item reached the destinationThe problem is even with a tracking number I would still be fucked. I've returned a lot of stuff through amazon and a lot of it automatically comes with a tracking label with the return. I have had a few where they show it said delivered when the seller never got it. They know how to steal shit and get away with it. The thing is I sent 2 packages at the same time both without tracking, the less expensive one was of course returned in a week while the more expensive one was never seen. Such bullshit.
Edit: ya I know which post office it is.
Somebody on foh told the story about ordering some ~$1000 item from Amazon and wanting to return it. 6 weeks later they noticed they never got reimbursed for it so they called Amazon and Amazon said it must be a mistake on their end, here is the money. A couple months later the guy found the item in his closet.Had an acquittance who did something like that. UPS left a $500 monitor from Dell on his door steps while no one was home. He comes home, picks up the package then proceeds to call Dell and tell them how UPS left it on his door step and someone stole it.
Dell sends out a new monitor.
I'm not going to defend the postal system one bit, but that sure sounds a lot more like something 18-year old buddies would do than the post office. If you were away at school at the time and living with other students, it seems far more likely that they would do something like that than postal employees that would be more likely to just throw the evidence away. Obviously I don't know the details, but that sure sounds like something I'd be laughing about years later. "Haha, remember that time we all ate Bob's care package and then got him to believe the post office fucked with him?! Ahh, those were the days."And the worst offense at all, they raided my care package my parents sent to me for my 18th birthday. They opened all of my candy then put it back, straight up took my drinks and then those mother fuckers ate my goddamn birthday cake and even had the balls to put the frosting smeared tupperware back in the box. Fuck them right up their asses.
Hah sure you just forgot a thousand dollar item. I know the guy i posted about is pretty bad, literally does everything he can to fuck over businesses because "they're going to fuck you over".Somebody on foh told the story about ordering some ~$1000 item from Amazon and wanting to return it. 6 weeks later they noticed they never got reimbursed for it so they called Amazon and Amazon said it must be a mistake on their end, here is the money. Accidental scamming.
"I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve."usps is a pile of shit. in my area i would only get some of my bills all the time and all of my bills some of the time, but i never got all of my bills all of the time. ten years ago i converted 100% to online pay and never looked back. never send or receive anything through them if you can help it. they cant even deliver holiday cards without losing half of em. every year.
I did a smaller version of this once when I ordered a Harmony Remote from Amazon. I got the package and opened it in my car, then later when I got into the house I noticed that it didn't have a battery in the package. I called Amazon, sent the remote back and got a new one and then like 2 years later I was vacuuming under the seat of my car and found a battery for a Harmony Remote.Somebody on foh told the story about ordering some ~$1000 item from Amazon and wanting to return it. 6 weeks later they noticed they never got reimbursed for it so they called Amazon and Amazon said it must be a mistake on their end, here is the money.
