? I get it’s a status symbol as well as a necessity in the us, and public transportation is crap or frowned upon by most.
Can’t be worse than mine, used to drive Civics
I do public transportation most often, bus/light tram bc it rocks here and parking is shite. Bicycle for fun. Most basic family cars are 30-40K usd here (lol), micro cars are like 20K, 180% taxation is a bitch as well as hefty polution tax upkeep.

Me too! Gotten lots of compliments on her over the years. Something about the Z that I myself fell in love with just seeing other drivers on the road with a Z. It's not even that fast because it LOOKS like it can smoke a lot of cars but its only a V6. Price-point wise I could have just as well gotten a Mustang GT and been burying the Tach needle and keeping up with Corvettes and Vipers and Ferraris from just a few years past if that's what "mattered" to me... pure acceleration. But at this point, its a veritable meme when talking about Mustang owners wrecking their GTs.
That's the complaint of the Z nowadays... it has the performance specs of a 2005 sports car with a 2020 sports car price tag but it still fits me just fine; very happy with my Z purchase!
BUT! If I could have done it all over again? Kept my old Dodge Avenger and saved $ to look at a 2020 Toyota Supra today. Still waiting patiently to see what Nissan has in store for the Z model line... THIS is the year they unveil a new Z and it could literally be any day now... we shall see!

Same, they don't really sell here.
Its not really a fast car, despite being a pretty recent 6-cylinder petrol, they get outclassed badly by german sedans that don't suffer from "I leased above budget so had to get the smallest engine and shittiest rims" syndrome, those sedans have a nicer interior (no discussion possible), higher resale value, and are more practical.
Lastly of course they are expensive when it comes to taxes / performance.
A 2015 370z needs 5.3 seconds to get to 100 kmph - it is listed at 325ish hp
A 2015 330i (sedan) needs 5.6 seconds to 100 kmph - it is listed as 252 hp, the Z4 with this configuration does it in 5.5 seconds due to weight
Maybe the Nissan has a really powerful airco though.
