Yeah Bale delivered but compared to other recent biopics this was pretty listless and boring, tbh. It's probably Adam McKay's worst movie, which is doubly disappointing if you admired The Big Short and came in expecting that caliber.
I think the problem was an embarrassment of riches when it comes to all the crazy shit Cheney got up to. He felt compelled to focus on too many of them as opposed to a narrower look on a couple hilarious things. Gary Oldman's Churchill movie worked because they did precisely that. Instead of trying to tackle the whole arc of Churchill's career they built the film around how one moment defined Churchill's tenure.
