I have money, and I tell you that if this is higher than $450, I'll pass. Because I've got to drop another 1.3 on a PC. The Samsung VR is fine. I don't get motion sick, but I've found I can only handle one hour of VR a day, as my eyes get tired. I'm not sure I'm going to be able to handle long play sessions with the EVE MMO.I actually thought they'd open preorders on Friday, and soften the blow with a media swarm of new content. Who knows what will come out in the next couple days.
But will your PC be ready for it? On the Rift website, it says the Rift ready PC's are still "coming soon."I will own this day one if I can, to see this kind of stuff in my lifetime I am beyond excited.
I've got an i7 and a geforce 980ti, hopefully ready for it but if I have to shell out for another video card to SLI I suppose I can, but it gonna hurt. But will your PC be ready for it? On the Rift website, it says the Rift ready PC's are still "coming soon."
Imagine if I said something like, "Hatorade's posts are so bad, only 25% of the population can understand anything he's saying.". But I include non-english speaking people in that. It'd be a meaningless number because only some 2 billion people in the world can speak passable english.I'm not sure I understand what you are saying. One percent is low.
Is it a misleading stat? I've demoed the Samsung VR to many hundreds of people. Some of them asked me for more info, and told me they are waiting on the Rift. These are non-gamers. They don't have the type PC to be able to run it, but they have a PC.Imagine if I said something like, "Hatorade's posts are so bad, only 25% of the population can understand anything he's saying.". It's the same with that article. It's including PCs that aren't even attempting to run 3D games. Most of those PCs couldn't run Everquest. Including them into a statistic about whether they can use the Rift is misleading.
(PS: sorry hatorade, your name was the first I saw!!!)
Which is why I'll have the Samsung VR and the Rift. One thing we do at my house is use VR a lot, or not use it at all. The last time I used my VR was when I had a threesome on virtualrealporn.com on Friday night. It's a bit weird that my dick is white, but I'll take a menage anyway I canI'm just hoping I don't have to buy a second one for the lady.....
I was reading that this can be done with the Rift also? There's an app, maybe someone can share that?I like the idea of what Sony is doing w/ outputing a signal to the TV and opening up the idea of others in the room interacting w/ the game being played by the person using VR.
Just wondering how much that will even be used, and if they can make the device more than just a PS4 accessory and the inherent limitations that results in.
You use to be able to just mirror the display onto your primary monitor. Not sure how/if that's change in that latest SDKs.I was reading that this can be done with the Rift also? There's an app, maybe someone can share that?
No lag from that, right? You use to be able to just mirror the display onto your primary monitor. Not sure how/if that's change in that latest SDKs.
I currently run triple monitor 5760x1080 on the latest games with no issues so I sure as fuck hope so, that said I will buy whatever my computer needs to run it smoothly if I don't have it already. But will your PC be ready for it? That's a critical feature of VR / the rift, so I think you can expect that it will work with it. It's worked (and was broken) at different times with the DK2. One of the big hurdles with the DK1/2 was integration with the OS. They have to do very specific things to minimize the amount of latency of the device, and that meant fighting with Windows. I'm hoping they nail that aspect with CV1, because that was one of the biggest problems I had when using the DK2. It seemed like half the demoes I tried didn't work without some finagling.I was reading that this can be done with the Rift also? There's an app, maybe someone can share that?
As long as you're only mirroring 1 viewport, so one eye, there shouldn't be much of a performance hit. Once you start adding viewports, that's going to be a large performance hit.None that I ever noticed while playing Elite.
