I got refunded pretty quickly. Ill pick it back up when I hear they have some major patches out. Its weird cause VT2 runs fine on my gaming PC. I guess this one hates the new shit.

I just started VT2 so I guess I can just play that instead.

I did the prologue in DT2 last night, then looked to see if you could solo like you can in VT2. I couldn't find any option if that exists. Is DT2 only Lobby PUG grouping right now? I don't know that I even saw a way to invite specific players to a group, or to form a group with friends.

I guess it helps that I never got into Vermintide so I don't see all the similarities. I briefly tried 1 & 2 and was very meh'd by both. This game just clicks where those others didn't for me.

So the grey on grey on grey....on fuckin grey is gay. But the visibility being reduced is one of the challenges for particular missions. Just avoid those if you can't take a snipe in the dark or two. You can tell by the icons on the mission map what particular PITA you may face that map. From extra hordes, to more special monsters.

I have mixed vibes from you. It sounded like you didnt care for it a week or two ago. Now it seems like you've dove all in? I saw your favorite list, is this going to replace Vermintide 2?

I did have mixed vibes. My biggest gripe was the color palette (Not fixed, if they even bother) and the ranged mobs, which I powered thru, and now are just annoying once you get big guns. I have played hours straight without a hitch or crash, so I am good there. There are some annoying bugs, like certain keybinds not sticking on logout, but that again is annoying rather than game breaking.

I really do love the WH40K universe, couple that with someone saying that it's too much like Vermintide 2, which to me is a HUGE plus. I love that game. I am going to probably replace this with VT2, depending on how the loot works long term. I do like the rotating store. Not a fan of the weekly "take a chance!" mystery loot with limited coins though.

Overall I am giving this a 6.5 outta 10. Enough for me to play, considering it's WH40K and I get a big ass shield with a machine gunz!

Here is some gunplay by my Ogryn. The Ogryn tree is pretty much made for mele, ranged not even a thought. Not a tank either (No taunt like the Iron Breaker in VT2), but can take a decent beating on the front line. And like I said the priest can just run and gun the whole map shooting lasers!

Does a Space Marine every pop in and tell you he will handle the rest and then goes on to kick everythings ass? If not, I'm a bit disappointed.

The only thing I'm not a fan of is how long the missions are. I'd like the option of playing a mission that is half the length of the current rotation.

So one thing that I've noticed is that this game is reusing assets 10 fold over what they did in Vermintide.

What I mean is that mission A may be an assassination mission taking you to the train station and it has its route, but mission B will be a water cleansing route, but its route will take you through a portion of mission A to get through it.

Hope that makes sense.

I was hoping the Psyker would be legitimately different than the Bright Wizard, but it doesn't seem to be?

Issues I have with game design:

ONE step into fire drops all toughness. It's fuckin silly. Higher levels this is death.
Snipers drop all toughness also. Higher levels this is death. Especially since cover is rare.
Stamina is used way to fast on normal blocking.
In a pinch my Ironbreaker could taunt everything on for 10 seconds or whatever. Why not Ogryn?
Ogryn really are not any tougher than any other class. Considering I can't see shit when blocking, there needs to be a trade off.
Charger can't be stopped unless shot down. Should be able to stun it.
No explanation on any stats/skills etc. Few days from launch and we have no idea what does what?
Lack of maps.
Too much grey/darkness everything. You literally can not see mobs. Couple that with fuckin fog? It's damn mess.
No cosmetics really. This will be coming I am sure though.
TOO much randomization at weekly's. You can get a grey or god tier item for crazy cost in coins.
Grimoires offer nothing of value.
Reuse of assets is crazy high.

Pretty much off the top of my head.

It isn't exactly the same. They added more key presses and quelling your overcharge doesn't take health. Also one of the melee weapons completely changes the playstyle due to it causing you to charge up when blocking and using the counter hit. I assume there will be a build based on that.

So the tutorial says sprint and slide to avoid enemy fire but it...doesn't actually work that way? Enemy lasguns and such do so much toughness damage you're instantly staggered if they are hitting you, which if you're an ogryn is all the time because there is no cover big enough to hide behind. Once you get past the two wiener difficulties you can't even try and approach a group of lasgun enemies if they are down a hall behind cover etc, they'll just shred you before you get there.

Sounds a lot like they had frontal stun immunity from EQ Ogres in for Ogryn and then decided against it? I mean, that would make more sense if what you're saying is transpiring.
