There is a doctor at the ranger citadel, the one with the lung cancer quest.

Hrmm, I totally missed that then, I haven't seen any lung cancer quest yet. Guess I need to explore the citadel a little better

Gotta talk to him about pills I believe. I think he buys bottles of pills at a premium similar to the poop guy and the weapon scrap guy. You can also get some xp by using your surgeon skill on some of the people in the sickbay.

Is the second act fixed yet? My game bugged out where I couldn't advance any quests and I'm trying to decide if it's worth a restart.

You can't see him when you start the game since you don't get access inside the HQ.
But when you finish the first quest (I think) you will then be let inside where you can find the Doctor.

Yeah I totally missed the little med ward room in the back with the doctor on my first half a dozen times in the Citiadel. Whoops.

Yeah, not seeing doors because of camera angles is probably one of the bigger annoyances, I'm at the prison and just now spotted the vendor at the citadel that sells explosives.

Can you not brute force / explode the door open? I don't think there's a save editor, you're probably screwed, luckily enough though it's still pretty early in the game so a reload won't hurt as bad.

My only real problem with the game is that it promotes save-scumming. I really wanted to get into that research facility in Darwin village but didn't have Rose in the group or sufficient computer science knowledge, so I reloaded close to 30 times just to crack the entry code. A big blemish on an otherwise great game.

You don't need Rose or Computer science (well it helps once you get INSIDE though!).
The code to the entrance you get from Medal of Honor toaster item. You DON'T need to get the item because you can simply just enter the code even if you get it from the web.

PROTEUS

I think Computer Science is a very important skill and needs to be maximize as soon as you get near Damonta (or if you want to do really well in Darwin Village).

Later on being able to "charm" robots using Computer Science in combat is just so valuable.

Is there a 3rd party "trainer" around anywhere that lets you edit characters to re-allocate skill points? I've made some dumb decisions and wasted a lot of points on a couple of my characters that it would be nice to have back.

you can edit the save files and change whatever stat and skill points you want. Don't need any trainer for it, just F3 and search for the appropriate terms.

Thanks for this. I started with a sniper in my group but chose Highpool so ended up with Vulture's cry instead of rose, hence two snipers. Ammo has proven to be a big problem with two snipers, hence have been dying to respec one of them.

Am I the only one who thinks Shotguns are horrible?
Small range, friendly fire, low capacity... Due to friendly fire my Shotgun guy rarely delivers damage in battle sometimes since I have to position him correctly which is AP intensive.

Shotguns are rape machines when - the combat shotguns appear (8ap 3 round burst) for example - with enough skill - this will cremate groups of enemies as good as the simple explosives. Second thing about shotguns - manually target them like you would a grenade. You can adjust the cone of fire to be ideal to sneak in an extra mob or barely shave an ally outside the cone to avoid friendly fire. The game does not require you to target an enemy directly to fire a weapon - in the case of shotguns and explosives - its what makes them so very good. Shooting the ground with your sniper rifle however - not effective.
