Digging Watchmen so far. Good job capturing the tone of the comic. The show made me realize I think Watchmen was the last comic I read many years ago.

Tons of layers, symmetry and details which are deftly handled, much like the comic. The egg smiley face with blood in the yolk. Crockett's badge at the end of episode one (the button, the badge). 1921, Laurie Blake, police anonymity, no drones, no body cams, redfordations, no cell phones, blue prayer stations phone booths, 7th Cavalry, last stand, wounded knee, disturbing themes and so on. Smartest man in the world living out his days after saving the world. Lots of layers that require the viewer to be knowledgeable of the references.

My criticism is that Watchmen was a straightforward story while this one is more ambiguous. A noticeable difference, not necessarily bad. It being Damon Lindelof there is good reason to think it won't lead anywhere.

Another good episode, lots of things moving along. Kinda wish the show was centered around Looking Glass rather than Sister NIght.

Enjoying this show a lot more than I thought I would going in to it.. not sure why since I loved the movie, but I guess I let the internet drag my expectations down.

Veidt is on Europa and pissed off the NPCs Dr. Manhattan created to cage him. Not sure how that will help free him since I don't thing Humans would be getting to Jupiter anytime soon.

This is intriguing but also batshit and nothing really fits together in any meaningful way.

This last episode was good. It was paced about right and I didn’t fast forward at all. Next episode looks like I may be FF through some shit.

Is Looking Glass a superhero? Or did the squid thing give him the ability to tell when someone is lying?

loved this weeks episode, Looking Glass Mirror Guy is fucking awesome and just a broken man in so many fascinating ways

there was a satellite over Europa that Veidt screams at, its presumably the asian billionaire chicks satellite since shes gotta be the only one who can do that shit. I still don't really understand the overall story plot points but it was a huge relief when they actually played the video the senator talked about, rather than cutting away and saving that for a future episode or something. Gives me hope the series isn't gonna end on a ball buster.

We're halfway through now, only 4 episodes left

I figure Looking Glass is psychic, he doesn't think he is and attributes his ability to tell when people are lying to recognizing physical features, but being near ground zero of the squid attack activated his latent psychic abilities which will only get stronger now that he isn't shielding his own head with the material.

Dr. Manhattan must have been behind Veidts imprisonment since he's the only thing that would set up that Europa biome. As far as the message Veidt spells out 'Save Me D' is all we see, is the D followed by 'an'? We've had no sign of Night Owl so far afterall...

Mirror Guy watching gay superhero porn was hilarious. Were those porn actors supposed to be Hooded Justice and Adrian Veidt ?

I like the movie ending for the movie. There wasn't enough time to add the squid creation stuff to an already long movie. The Manhattan bombs work as a more believable and immediate threat to end hostilities.

The show does a great job of showing the lasting efforts needed to keep the peace from the squid. I personally like the comic ending better because the art is so iconic. I also think that showing all the people working on the squid, then showing how Ozymandias murdered them showed how Ozymandias was a pretty bad dude. The movie has a brief shot of the scientist at Karnak dead, but there wasn't a lot of investment in those characters.

So we’ve had back storied episodes for everyone except Red Scare so we should be getting to the meat of the season now with some info bombs dropping like squidies, I think, maybe?
