It's supposed to be like 40 years after the end of the comic. Still it's definitely a stretch to claim Rorschach was a white supremacist. The closest vein in that direction would've been to call him a "conspiracy theorist" because of who Rorschach mailed his journal to as a dead man's switch at the end of the books.Holy shit, how can they do this? They completely ignore t he source material and critical themes....and make this a generic "WHITE SUPREMACISTS ARE THE BAD GUYS" thing? Thats nothing to do with the comics

They took that basic vein and rolled with Rorschach's "legacy" being corrupted by white supremacists I guess... but then the guy who speaks for the Rorschach people at the end is a black dude so I dunno where they're going with that.
Even if the basic structure essentially follows the conflict at the end of the comic, that Rorschach's principles would unravel Veidt's plan to avert nuclear war, they STILL manage to take a good idea and stuff it full of full on SJW wokejuice.
The only promising thing about it is that it's Damon Lindelof and if it's anything like The Leftovers or Lost, it won't matter what the basic structure is because it won't fucking go anywhere.
If it's 40 years after the end of the comic why set it up with the Oklahoma Race Riot that happened 60 years before the comic?
Because the kid from that riot is going to be a major character in the show?If it's 40 years after the end of the comic why set it up with the Oklahoma Race Riot that happened 60 years before the comic?
the first episode doesn't really do that at all and the ending leaves things a bit open ended, really need to see where this goes in episode 2. but don't let that stop ya from doing the same thing SJWs do, judge stuff without actually watching it.
ending
the episode ends with blind (?) louis gossett jr revealing he's the one who killed/lynched Sheriff Don Johnson, I assume he was the earlier Watchman (now assumed by Regina King) who was also probably a cop. He was also probably the baby or young kid in the tulsa riots. He clearly hates cops and what America has become, and has allied himself (?) with the Rorschach group. Why is a black old guy on the same side as nazis? Does he not know he's black? Lets find out in episode 2.

Damon Lindelof did this shit in Leftovers all the time. There was a big intro at the very beginning of one of the seasons that had cavemen and "timequakes" and shit-----ended up relating to nothing in particular and was totally all red herring bullshit. If it's 40 years after the end of the comic why set it up with the Oklahoma Race Riot that happened 60 years before the comic?
