Wonder how bad Aransas got hit. At least the whooping cranes were out of town.

Rockport, was the worst followed by Aransas and then Ingleside. We got the wind, Houston got the water, next to no flooding around here except low lying areas.

I read an article today, Houston being so humid, and the flooding lasting so long, even houses that did not get wrecked but got flooded are going to suffer from massive mold problems. All the more reason to despise those damn Myconid Adepts. Lower Seb is responsible for this.

edit: if I possed skillz I would have made a photo of myconids bouncing up toward you on a flooded highway. But they are coming.

If you flooded you really have to watch rebuilding. After Katrina drywall was in massive demand so home improvement companies imported a shit load of drywall from China. Several years later that was a multi billion dollar settlement because the Chinese drywall rotted out peoples copper pipes in their house.

Chinese drywall - Wikipedia

Home supply retailer Lowe's has denied claims that they have sold contaminated drywall imported from China. Numerous class action lawsuits were brought against the company, and as of October 28, 2010 Lowe's has agreed to a settlement that may award victims up to $100,000 for damages caused by contaminated drywall purchased at their stores. Lowe's released a statement saying,

"Lowe's entered into this agreement as part of our commitment to serving our customers, not because such a step is or has been required by law, or because drywall purchased from Lowe's has been proven deficient in any way."[35]

Hurricane Irma just formed off the west coast of Africa. It's expected to become a Cat 4 or 5 Hurricane and the jury is still out where it will hit.

Well, as of this morning every gas station in my area is out of gas (Irving/DFW Airport areas). I wasn't paying attention and now it looks like I'm boned. Glad I filled up the bike yesterday but it looks like the car is sitting for a bit.

Irma is a Cat 2 already. This track may change drastically over the next few days.

I'm hearing that they're sending all the gas to Houston.

I haven't heard anything about Exxon. But I can tell you from dealing with them for the last 25 years they have a contingency for everything.

My wife works for exxon and is on the emergency response team. I haven't heard of a xon plant being in trouble either, but I just asked her. I will report back if there's anything to it (and it doesn't get confirmed by someone else first) She did say the main campus in the woodlands is supposedly fine, but closed unless you have permission from your supervisor to come in. That's the strangest thing I've ever heard of.

You can't see the line going out the other side and down the road about a 1/4 mile. Normally there are no problems pulling in and getting a free pump or a ZJ for that matter.
