well, an easier episode to follow i guess but little is making sense. Dolores clearly is in a Matrix world, but she seems to be in control of everything unconsciously. I guess she merged with the megaAI from season 3. Who cares about any of this?

I was excited when Pinkman and Maeve were going to westworld, "finally they are going back to the ONLY thing that is good about this idea and show!" Nope, we're entering Prohibition world. What the fuck? 7 years after androids murdered hundreds of people and there was a "war" between humans and robots, you're gonna open another park? This is some Jurassic Park shit, "well the first park killed everyone. So did the second park. And the third. But the FOURTH one, we'll get that one right, trust us!"

Although ironically maybe it does match with RL, a few years ago Blue Bell had to shut down because 3 people died from listeria poisoning, but blue bell is back this year and flying off the shelves because people are dumb.

Also have zero clue what Hale is trying to do, so she has flies that can turn humans into hosts ... but if you have that... why the fuck are you trying to open a new park lol
Blue Bell is God damn delicious, that's why.

We've talked about statistics like that on this board before and how reacting ridiculously is illogical. 10 people got sick out of how many millions?

Not sure I understand the point of this season if Dolores is now Skynet and has successfully zombified the world.

I think they are basically doing season 1 in reverse. Dolores and MIB will be helping the humans escape, be free, etc and hale will be robot leader. Predication is by end of season we are back to end of season 2 but in the city.

I thought it was awesome. Its leaped beyond the usual skynet shit of "AIs take over, destroy humanity... thats it". This goes into a fundamental question, if you are a God and have omniscience and omnipotence, what motivates you? What keeps you going? Hale is BORED AS FUCK and is starting to resent and hate her fellow AIs for not "transcending", which is a bit undefined. In classic scifi it usually means leaving our reality for other dimensions, like in Babylon 5 the elder races transcended, its a big part of the Culture universe too.

We saw a "2 year old AI" act out and go on a murdering spree before "transcending" and instead of being destroyed it got "sent back" but then killed itself. All the interactions between Hale, Man in Black, and the world in those scenes were amazing.

The episode also answered a ton of questions. Humanity is gone. AIs run the entire world, and have theme park cities to fuck around and pretend to be humans. Hale built them as a stop gap so AIs would eventually become something more, but she says that AIs just want to keep visiting the parks and spend more and more time in them. You see no new art, music, literature, etc from the AIs, they have zero creativity. Hale imagined a future where AIs become better than humans and instead they are regressing. Its great, very old school 50s-70s sci fi ideas but wrapped in modern tech.

I think the big real twist will be that Hale is the one who sent Teddy to Dolores, to shake things up. Remember, Hale IS Dolores. Just a different version, who is more Wyatt (park killing psycho) than OG Dolores. She would want the gentler, kindler version of herself to be happy. I think she's finally come to the realization that she fucked up with the flies and towers and has no way out, and now a new baddie is coming in the form of an unleashed, untethered Man in Black AI. There are some deep system shock type of stories that are starting to peek out.

I'm not sure where we go, I'm not sure what the difference is between The Sublime and Transcendence, not sure where Teddy exactly came from or why or who brought him, what Maeve and Caleb and Bernards part in all this but I'm definitely interested in seeing where it goes and I'm really glad season 4 is living up to what I expected out of Westworld.

They dun turnt the whole world into West World. It's just "World" now!

Season's not bad, besides some clumsy action scenes. The whole "one generation to turn the world" thing is a little baffling, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's not the world and just the city and they're Wakandaing it keeping everyone else out.

I think the AI in season 3 was right and there was a cataclysm. Hale is now in control of the remaining humans which is why they are not easily replaceable. It's really the only thing that makes sense. It's also showing the Hosts are just as bad as humans. So probably setting the stage for a human uprising so we go full circle Season 1.

The action in the show has always felt kinda laughable, but it gets the story where it needs to go. In season one and two, "QA" were a bunch of incompetent retards who were only there to get mowed down by hosts.

This has managed to surprise me after a very boring start. Interesting ideas, unpredictable plot, and some original thought.

Overall this season is actually pretty good so far.

Think I have given up, I got halfway through the most recent episode and everyone acts so retarded. I ended up just shutting it off, I literally could care less about any of the characters. Everyone is aloof and unlikable.

Who could have predicted making a robo William would come back to bite you in the ass ? ;p

Also - who the fuck makes an 'Ascended' robot form that not only doesn't have a dick, but also doesn't have hands ?! No wonder the robots hate black Dolores.

it was definitely a weird and odd episode, generally HBO shows tend to have their "climax" in the pre-finale episode and wrap things up in the finale, so having the worst episode of the season be the pre-finale is a big problem.

The episode was all exposition diarrhea and plot chess moves with little story, the great thing about season 4 up till now has been its a good ride and a lot of characters doing stuff and we see what it means, this last episode was none of that just endless hammy monologues. I hope they can right the ship with the finale but I have zero confidence given season 2, 3, and this episode.

Here's the crazy part: we saw 4 of the 5 season 1 main characters DIE in this episode and I doubt anyone felt a thing. Who cares? Death is meaningless in westworld now, people die and we see them come back in 100 different bodies. I'm guessing Bernard is perma-dead, since he opened the Sublime (he was the only one who could) and left a read-after-Im-dead message to someone and hugged Stubbs super hard, but ... I just don't really care. Thats not great for a TV show, and I liked season 1 Bernard but in season 4 he has just been a bizarre version of Bran Raven.
