Really not looking at it from a money making stand point. The user base would be too small, but maybe put a few together to help some companies I work with out. The documentation is nearly non existent and the few vidoes or mainly foreign or they don't speak the "language" that shops are expecting and get into way too much detail of how they programmed/developed it or whatever. Just finding the dumbest thing out takes me a week of trail and error.

I could make a 10 minute video and save a shop a weeks worth of time or more on the curve.

Copy of the old OP (with "how long" added):

Reading through the other forums, specifically the job listings forum, and became decidedly curious. Since the forum is new, the community base has been around for quite some time, but there seems to be a desire to expand it; why not open the flood gates?

Be as descriptive or vague as you're comfortable with.

I'll contribute when some loser posts that makes less than me.
If this thread turns out anything like the last one, take 20-30% off the top to get a good picture of what people are actually making.

Where do you work? Currently for a relatively large City

What do you do? (Title/keywords) IT Systems Architect

What field/industry? Government / IT

Wages? 107k base

Bonuses/SEP? More OT than I can handle and I get paid 1.5x for it (2x on Sundays)

Benefits? Health/Dental/Holidays/PTO/etc.

How long have you been there? 4 years

Gonna make a move back to DoD contracting though to a state with a much much lower cost of living so even though base pay is relatively the same going to feel like a lot more. I'm paying more for less in the benefits department though so that sucks but the benefits for this city are so good right now there's no way it can last. They are already shoving all new hires into HSA/High Deductible accounts so the writing is on the wall there.

If I'm not in PM or PC (project coordinator, no politically correct), purchasing agent, or estimater mode I design, draw, produce shop drawings for shit like this. If it falls apart while in use, I do it quick turnaround. This was a section of duct that fell apart when they lifted it on site and I designed a replacement. It was measured on site, designed, fabricated, inspected and ready for shipment within 3 days of it being destroyed.

Nothing exciting, but it pays the bills.
