What do you do?

I constantly forget to show up for meetings on my calendar so maybe I do need a secretary

I always forget too. I do have a phone too.

Also please never call me a comp sci ever again, I'm not some dirty peasant shitlord. I have a degree in computer engineering, swag style.

We have an office admin for around 150 people, so that's our secretary. I work in a giant corp office, I am just a number in a cube..

Our engineers are dealing with lots of other engineers outside the comapny on a hourly basis, they need a secretary. She is also part document control and various other things, she doesn't just answer the phone and schedule meetings. She makes travel arrangements and makes sure documents get sent to who needs them etc...

I have a personal secretary but I have no idea why. I loan her out to whoever needs help or she would quit from boredom. We're moving an office here and consolidating the company. The president has a "plan" so whatever, we'll see. She's really good at getting me on a tele conference. Everyone has a different deal to dial into with a code and such shit. I got no time for that lol. 4 people in a teleconference. I rather talk to the person on the phone by myself after it's all over and get the real scoop. I think most of them are sitting on a computer playing games during it anyway or looking at porn. I like when everyone signs in and you get a person you don't know so you ask their title and company and they go "uhhh ummm". JFC make up a title, I do it all the time. Or just say why you're there.

In other news I got offered a part time job at lunch today. Weekends at $10/hour. We'll see I may do it for a while. I'm bored as shit here and don't know anyone and it's too hot to get out and do the stuff I want to do.

That's the best part of engineering!!

We call them designers. They do the work and the engineers stamps it.

If I had a dollar for every engineer I talked to that had his stamp on something and he said "I never looked at it" and had to call the designer or draftsman/detailer to find out something.

Do you have an extra curricular you sink your money in, saving up to open a bakery or something? I've been thinking what I would do clearing 20k a month.. i think I'd donate a shit ton and get my name and some statues splattered all over town for laughs... maybe that's why I'm poor.

I don't make what Cad makes, but I live on about 20% of my pay. The rest goes into retirement and buying more land. I don't get people that make tons of money like millions per year and keep doing it and at age 70 want more. Fuck that.

I'm doing this long enough so I can get out and get out of the city forever, but that's me. Happiness is not seeing a neighbor. For about 10 years I lived where it was 20 minutes to the nearest stop sign. Happiest time of my life, but again that's just me.
