Not huge, but yes there were some people offended by it. However, if you watch the actual movie, it's pretty obvious that they're making fun of Downie's character for doing something that is so offensive, not saying it's appropriate or something that should be done (same goes with Stiller's character for portraying the retard to win an award, they were making fun of Penn, Hanks, Gooding etc). But yeah, it was mostly overshadowed by the whole "retard" uproar.

Which I totally get. But there's a huge difference between that, and a group of white girls dressing up as a set of TV characters and using makeup to change their skin tone where necessary to make the outfits more faithful. She's not wearing a black face costume, or a 'sexy ghettofabulous welfare queen' costume (which would be offensive even without the makeup), she's just using makeup to dress up as a character who happens to be black.

I partially agree with you. I prefer that they be taken alive, but only so they can be tortured for as long as possible until they die a horrible and painful death.
Thats what happens when our society is ran by tards. People who must certainly deserve the death penalty without a doubt dont get it but people who are convicted on shaky and contrived evidence get it.
