I honestly hate were the internet is going.
Like why the fuck do people watch others stream themselves playing video games("donating" money to them is a whole other question of what the fuck")? Unless its some like preview of a unreleased video game or something why the hell wouldnt you just play the game yourself? What enjoyment do you get from watching someone else do something you can literally do yourself? It makes sense with sports because not everyone can throw a football 50 yards or dunk a basketball. But watching someone click some keys?
Shut the fucker down, retards are filling it up with pure shit.
I think watching some people play can be interesting, in some cases. 2 main cases based on actual examples, watching a dota/lol pro play in first person is quite interesting as a non pro, especially when they're the type of players who will try to explain why they're doing what they're doing. You get some insight in how to think and improve on your own gameplay by watching a pro. The second aspect is seeing a part of the game that you yourself haven't experienced yet and want to learn about, for example, playing a different class in diablo or wow. You watch a stream of a demon hunter or a warlock and see how they play out, what kind of stuff you can do with them when they're geared, their rotations, that kind of stuff. It's similar to watching the review of a game, but for only a specific part of the game that you're interested in.
Besides that, there's also the "community" thing and all that shit derivated from the chat. It's basically the new IRC(technically it's just IRC channel embedded), only with some guy also playing the game you want to chat about and what not. You often see that in smaller channels, "regulars" and shit talking to each other on a stream and talking about shit that might not be related to the game.
A lot of streams are unwatchable fucking shit though. Fuckers spamming ads and telling people to subscribe, spending 90% of their time reading chat instead of playing the fucking game and answering every single question even the most retarded ones because of "viewer interaction" or whatever bullshit, and obviously the female streams, which are the absolute fucking worst thing(besides a few exceptions).
But I watch streams pretty often, not for very long but like I'll check who's streaming, what game is being streamed, check out new patches content or other classes and shit. Also watch dota/lol tournament matches but I guess that's quite different than your average streaming you're complaining about.
