The problem is that with all your other examples, even though I'm not any of those professions, it's not that hard to spot a fuckup in those categories. Doctors, lawyers, take years of studying and training. It's really hard for me to tell if they're full of shit because it's literally Greek to me. Or Latin.
That's a good point and true to an extent, but I would argue that there are plenty of professions where it's just as difficult to spot a fuckup. For example, if I have an electrician come over to rewire my house, how the hell do I know if he does a good job or not? Obviously, if something doesn't work it is clear, but for all I know he put a huge fire hazard in my walls that I won't know about until my house burns down randomly one night. The average joe knows fuck all about electricity, plumbing, carpentry, etc. and simply takes the "professional" on his or her word.
I'm glad someone broke the chain. I was feeling like a dick coming to complain about little things in my life and seeing someone get a (false) death sentence from a doc.
I can do both.
