Im not sure about that. Then again my time in 200cc is playing with the guys from Neogaf and them fuckers are good. The advice they gave me was Use the break button. There is no way to just drift the whole time. Your ass will fly off the course more times then not.

Nintendo's E3 last year was amazing. If the other companies don't copy what they did with the Treehouse Live event they are idiots.

I dunno, no Zelda at E3 this year leaves very little for me to care about Nintendo's event. I mean I guess we could get a Xenoblade X release date? Other then that I expect more DLC bullshit for mario cart/splatoon

Not talking about what game's they announce, just the format they used for E3. The full day gameplay streams with developers and Treehouse people was great.

It is a blast to play. Short intense matches... My kids yesterday, RAN to the livingroom at 6 to play..... I am expecting fights next weekend... Unless my oldest doesn't get his missing schoolwork in, then he will be sulking in his room for a week minimum.
He was sick last week and missed a test and is missing 2 assignments. But his school tripthis week, so he has Tuesday only to makeup the work.

We have a rule for computer/games... Grades have to be 80 or higher, and no missing assignments, or else no electronics at all for a week. Or until grades at 80+, and no missing work, whichever comes second. I can check his grades/all assignments online.

Review embargo is up for Splatoon

most scores- so far- are in the 7.5-9 range- cons are limited initial content (huge patch coming in august) and no voice chat/custom lobbies.

if you like jimquisition- he gave it an 8/10 which is a good score, but he ended the review with this
"I've played it. I'm still buying it. Can't think of a stronger recommendation than that." - ie, he liked it enough to spend his OWN money on it. (review copies do not work post release)


if you get the game at Target friday, they are offering a free splatoon logo'd supersoaker to go with it..

If only Splatoon had been bundled with the Wii U when it debuted. It would have made the console and it's quirky controller make sense.

Not sure yet how long or short on content the game is, but it's great fun. Reminds me of Monday Night Combat, my favorite shooter.

without the gamepad how do you quickly super squid jump...which is controlled by the screen.. but ya, besides that one, no real reason NOT to support all other control schemes.

and 1v1,,.make your OPPONENT use the gamepad.

By super squid jump i mean ..jump across the map..not the be in squid form and jump farther thing....


got the game, my twins are probably fighting over who plays right now...(i am at work) 3 pack amiibo sold out everywhere i checked today- so are most other amiibo's too- my 13yr old comes home from nyc tonight and will be wanting to play...i'll be fighting them tomorrow as to who plays. (i'll let them play ...some)

Well, this game didn't do it for me. Forced gamepad use and lack of mp communication tools were just too much for me.

I burned out on MK8 and Smash, don't give a shit about Star Fox, and Zelda was delayed to 2016. Since NX was announced already, decided to sell my Wii U. It's been a slice Nintendo. Let's hope next generation is better than this one.

nx has been named, true, but, it is not being announced as to what it actually is until next year.

Yeah NX won't be out until 2017 at the earliest, if it's even a successor.

I'm sure they will fix people's biggest gripes with MP like they did with Smash and Mario Kart (except the no voice chat, they won't cave on that). Supposed to be tons of free maps, modes, etc on the way too.
