I was watching the above stream, and have to ask: Is he on low settings? Yeah yeah Gameplay >>> Graphics, but both are really important to me. The super low quality textures were distracting. FF14 was shitty to me, but the awesome settings and graphic detail convinced me to at least play through once and get my 20$ worth.

There is a setting in graphics that vastly affects how resolution looks on one computer to another. They really should say something about it.

In terms of unique mechanics? Yes. In terms of dungeons? No.

You couldn't even get near comparing WS 1-35 vs WoW 1-35 either. Maybe less zones, but there's about 300 billion more things to do.

The twitch factor is starting to concern me. Watched a friend play at low levels as long as you pay attention and have half a brain it isn't so bad.

My concern is that "hardcore" or endgame will be balanced against how quick your 4th grader Mario brothers reflexes are. Again using Tera as an example, there was nothing hardcore about their hardcore dungeons. Pretty much they up the speed of bosses' main combos and finishers as well as spam aoe telegraphs. If that's their version of end game and raiding, I'll pass. Enough you're already paying attention to ability spam and cool downs to also be concerned about missing the precise jumping and dodging sequence (double jumping in this case). Bet anything that double jumping is part of boss fighting mechanics.Boss has an aoe that deals a lot of damage nearly killing you, right before he does this a series of floating rocks bounce up and you have to jump, and then double jump onto them to avoid the aoe down below. Yes Nintendo Wii style.

If I want that sort of gimmick I'll stick to one of the numerous FPS mmos coming out on the horizon. They need to leave this twitch shit to the FPS mmos, they do it better and are typically optimized for it.

Yah ok. I don't know anyone who goes back to town to sell half a bag worth of grey shit for 10 fucking copper. More like I have to search through my bag to delete this bullshit. Who the fuck is RPing with grey loot? Are you drunk?
I'm late to the party on this reply, but I think the point is not that players RP with grey loot.. how does that even make sense.

The point is that the grey loot is an attempt (albeit shallow) to create immersion and realism in the world. Sometimes, the orc you just killed was wielding a rusty iron dagger. Worthless? Yes. Fitting properly into the game world? Yes. Does everything have to be a craft component or a Froman's Hammer of Orc Slaying +7? No

Just PVP'd a bit. Seems like a cluster at the moment, but smart people with smart builds can be pretty awesome. Everyone else might just want to follow the zerg and get their biggest ranged AE they can muster. You know, like most every other MMO.

Doesnt really equate to fun. I tried to get into this last night and today and it just isnt doing it. Friend enjoyed it but maybe its bc im still raiding in WoW that all it did was make me feel like i logged over to an alt and was going to level all over again.

Everytime i see the word telegraph i think "Why god why?"

Have not pvp'd yet, maybe that will make a difference.

Oh stop with the immersion bullshit. You can't talk about immersion when you have mobs that are animals dropping coin. Oh look, that bear has a coin Purse!

The question is how many people really want WOW 2.0?
I may not be in the majority, but I think I'm ok with that.

The evolution of MMOs has to take steps. Each step is incremental, and maybe not an order of magnitude better or more inventive than the last. EVERYTHING takes what worked before and builds on it, until technology allows a new iteration to take a big leap forward.

I stopped playing WoW at the end of vanilla due to burnout. Came back for a short time in WoTLK and wasn't sucked back in. I stopped playing SWTOR at the end of vanilla as well.

I'm interested in this game, cause I'm hankerin for a return to MMOs, and I'm excited to experience what this brings to the table. I don't expect it to blow my mind and fry my mobo with awesomesauce, and neither should you.

OF COURSE I want a MMO that will glue me to my chair for the next 3 years (actually that sounds horrible). But I'll settle for incremental improvements and content/style that appeal to me.

not sure where you're getting this from... I agree that loot such as you've described does not improve immersion or belong in a game that is concerned about immersion. You've jumped the shark with your argument.

Sean, lock up this Bad.

I don't understand why if the nda has been removed for the low levels that they tattooed 89408 through out my entire fucking screen during the stress test.

They only removed the NDA for specific people(press, streamers). Everyone else is still under NDA, including low lvl content.

Sounds stupid to me.
Yeah that was mentionned already. Especially when you're starting stress tests, having a NDA is pointless as fuck, you're inviting thousands of people every week to play your game, it's not like the NDA is going to matter if they don't like it, and people who might care won't break the NDA to explain how the people who disliked it are wrong or not saying everything. It just creates more negativity than removing the NDA would, unless your game is complete fucking shit. Then again the fanboys can still help in that case.
