I'm not even trying to be a dick. That's an honest observation. I personally play with like 5 core people who are dedicated to the Church of Video Gameology, thankfully. I did CBT1 alone for quite some levels and it's not nearly as good as it is with some one else. Especially since a lot of the combat mechanics are designed for group play.
After reading the XB1vsPS4 thread though, it became apparent there's a lot more lone wolves than wolf packs around here.

Games themselves have forced the natural decline in the size of cliques and groups. 10, 8, 5, 4, 1 you're not recruiting a raid group with extras to sub in when people can't make it, you're now only going on days when your entire(ly small) party can all be online. Doing DKP is worthless in such small systems, but then the designers themselves tack on even stupider loot and point requirements to boot.
I'm really hoping the 20 and 40 mans counteract this and we start seeing more of a server community.

It's just like an other quest based MMORPG. It's more fun with friends. There's nothing new with that line of thinking. Playing the game itself will be just like playing WOW Vanilla/TBC all by yourself.
its literally nothing new, they just picked features from mmos and slapped them together in their own game.
the only reason ill buy it is because im a sucker for bigger raid sizes and ill do the 40man content.
Spending time with people you like is generally more enjoyable than spending it alone, but that's not a reason to play Wildstar either alone or together, because it is a bad MMORPG

So what you're saying is that this is going to implode like every other MMO since WoW and be F2P within six months? I meanactualF2P, not the timecard thing they're doing.
Tangential thought: Why do MMO designers keep looking at TBC-era WoW as the target they should be hitting?

Regarding combat sounds; when you shoot or hit something are the sounds crunchy? Does it feel/sound like you're actually crunching through meat and bone?
Something about WoW and most MMOs now days feeling like I'm hitting a sandbag and the weapon contact sounds don't feel or sound visceral. Was playing my rogue the other day and I realized what I hated about it was it felt like I was slicing through thin air.

no but half of the shit you kill dont have bones to start with since its set in a slightly futuristic setting. some of the sound effects arnt bad, some are so terrible that people avoid playing the class because of them (im looking at you warrior)

I don't know why these guys even bothered. I guess catering to the 17 year old WoW population of today is considered a safe bet. Maybe it'll get some more twitch views. Maybe we can play Wildstar on our phone?

Same old and tired statement like Sega Vs Nintendo, etc. You don't like what I like, you look different, etc,etc, etc so you must suck. The stupidity of humanity but it is what it is. This is a good game for people who want a lot of what WoW offers but want something a bit fresher. Nothing wrong with that as long as it moves the genre a bit forward. Personally, I think it's too much like WoW for my long term tastes but that's just me.
