Incoming: Five pages of Quaid complaining about a game he doesn't intend to play.
Sorry... Am I supposed to know who you are?

Anyway, no, you won't see 5 pages of anything about this game from me. It's really not even worth the time to be quite honest.

This shit is a solid 7/10.

Then you have a lot of options... But based on my initial impressions, TESO was more 'fun'.

Oh... And this is fucking nothing like WoW, and those hoping for that are setting themselves up for a serious letdown.
Lol. This reminds me of sitting my fan boy friend down and telling him blatantly how terrible ESO is. ESO is easily one of the worst mmo's, beta or not, I've ever played.

I'll admit I didn't like this game at all at first, but it's starting to grow on me. I really wish I could go sword & board though :/

There's too much of it that is offensively generic to me, like a slightly more polished TOR, but without the story elements

If they actually had time to do the promised combat revamp and if the leveling experience wasn't terrible as all fuck it might of been worth playing.

As it is, if you haven't burned out on bear ass quests, then you might get a couple of weeks out of this. Reality is though it is shit, releasing during a drought, and the games combat really isn't good.

TESO vs WowStar

Wildstar combat is smoother, slightly better although it is spammy as fuck and not very deep
Wildstar animations are better but are still pretty bad
TESO world better
TESO quests slightly to much better
TESO graphics better
TESO client runs better in closed
Wildstar does have better humor and better gems but those are fairly rare in a overall generic game
Wildstar is further behind in the process than TESO is given similar release times

Both games suck. Given that Wildstar is more of a generic MMO with shittier quests I would probably pick TESO if I had a gun to my head and had to pick one game to play. TESO is a much bigger disappointment for certain but Wildstar is hardly a good game by any stretch.

Kind of a shit sandwich for both, just pick the turd you like better. Corn or peanuts? Chow down if that is your thing.

Yeah, something about questing in this game feels far more tedious to me than almost any recent MMO. I can't even put my finger on it. Maybe I've just finally hit the point of being done with that kind of play, /shrug.

its definatly something about this game. I usually dont mind the quest grind but i have trouble powering through it in wildstar.

i dunno but after two hours of fucking around in TESO i just alt-f4'd and have no desire to try it again until it is available as f2p, but after 2 hours in wildstar (3/4ths of which were laggy DCing, admittedly) I kinda wanna play it some more. even though all I saw were bear ass and fedex quests you always have that (bad) assumption that "hey, maybe this game does something new and interesting when I hit level 50!"

I 100% know its gonna be the same mmo shitfest where after a month you are done and never really login again, but it'll be a fun month. I was a bit surprised by the art style, I thought it was gonna be more edgy cartoony but it felt more loony tunes cartoon style, maybe thats just cuz I made a furry as my stress character.

These days with so much MMO turnover the leveling process is one giant time sink rather than skill and player tests. Most don't even bother making more than one route and everything gets filtered to the optimum chain of zones to complete. So beyond that the focus is entirely on what happens at max level and what they do with the story.

Everything has failed horribly at release content these days so if the leveling isn't where all the dev work is going maybe they figured it out.

I hear you. When I got into this, I almost had a heart attack out of joy. But the goddamn quest grind, my lord. I just couldn't get it into it. I am finding screwing around with Neverwinter's new Hunter Ranger more enjoyable.

i think the most enjoyment i get out of wildstar so far is looking at their forums and seeing close to no developer interaction...but lots of NDA warnings(the reddit, their twitch streams, etc, etc). What "The Devs are listening" means to me currently is them watching for NDA breaks so they can ban people.

You obviously can't read the CB forums or their in-game interaction(always at least one on each day answering questions).

The gameworld just doesn't make sense to me, given that the setting is sci-fi. The most enjoyable thing in the 17 lvls of play I've done before jumping into the Blade & Soul Open Beta (China), was the off-world mission (to one of the moons) where I ran through a mine blowing up dead bodies and worms. That -felt- more sci-fi than anything I had done.

...

There's constant reddit posts, Wildstar Central that has it's own developer tracker and countless other forums that they use. You can dislike the game but you're crazy if you don't think that the devs are extremely active in communicating with their playerbase.

Yes that's how videogames derpvelopment works nowadays : developers and programmers are assigned to hunt leakers and manage forums while community managers are writing code and creating design. That's how the world runs in Clueless Studios Inc.
