One commenter said "it resembles an upbeat version of Serial Experiments Lain", mixed in with enemies/fights in the line of the surreal/symbolic fights of Madoka and with Bakemonogatari vibes. Makes sense, because the soundtrack is done by the same guy who did the later Bakemonogatari soundtracks.Beautiful animation on this, but I have absolutely no idea what the show is about.
So this series will really be about Ohto coming to terms with the loss of a friend, a friend who committed suicide at school. Probably because she was being bullied for being Ohto's friend (who herself was bullied for having different colored eyes). One commenter said "it resembles an upbeat version of Serial Experiments Lain", mixed in with enemies/fights in the line of the surreal/symbolic fights of Madoka and with Bakemonogatari vibes. The episode is not chronological.
Timeline in the middle/Flashback:
MC gets bullied in school, new transfer student comes in, they become friends, yuri vibes, transfer student commits suicide, MC goes full hikikomori.
Timeline around it:
MC walks around in dusk/dawn to avoid people, finds a dying firefly and buries it. Like the cat in Bakemonogatari It comes back as supernatural being and offers her an egg. When leaving the house she is transported to her dreamworld, where she is enticed to break the egg. Other girl comes out of it and has to survive for an hour in a death game. MC breaks down, but at the end confronts her own fear/feelings and helps the other girl survive.
She can buy eggs and help the girls in the eggs, with the goal to revive the friend who committed suicide if she helps enough girls. It's dangerous though, as injuries carry over from dreamworld to the real world.
This is the best part of the show: We don't know yet.So this series will really be about Ohto coming to terms with the loss of a friend, a friend who committed suicide at school.
I don't disagree with you, but the first episode was about Ohto finally standing up to a bully, with tons of allusions to acts of bullying taking place in her school.. which she ignored. I imagine all the other girls using the Eggs have similar stories, with the Acca using them for some purpose. The interesting thing to me, based on the first episode, will be the girls/people IN the Eggs. This is the best part of the show: We don't know yet.
The PV, promo pictures, and the end of the episodes hint at more girls than her using the egg gacha.
She was bullied herself because of her heterochromia, so I guess it's hard on her to stand up to bullies. There is a lot of symbolism in this show: The flowers on the floor in front of the door to the roof where she finds the statue were lilies, which hints at there being more than feelings of friendship between them, which eventually lead to the fallout and Koito's suicide.with tons of allusions to acts of bullying taking place in her school.. which she ignored
Right. Yet she did nothing to stop people from bullying her best friend, and that friend ended up committing suicide (obviously we don't know the exact cause yet). Ohto is probably suffering from extreme guilt. Maybe the Acca are trying to help her resolve that, or maybe they are just using her (or both and more!). We'll see.She was bullied herself because of her heterochromia, so I guess it's hard on her to stand up to bullies. Flower Language in Wonder Egg Priority
Naoko Yamada’s influence throughout the anime industry, particularly with various directors’ use of flower language, continues to impress me. In Shin Wakabayashi’s Wonder Egg Prio…formeinfullbloom.wordpress.com
Can someone remind me the name of the anime where the MC is some knight hero trying to marry the cleric daughter of the legendary... whatever. But in the process keeps getting laid accidentally? Was a pretty recent season of something.
Previous ED was one of the best in anime ever. New OP is aight, but new ED terrible in relation. Get your troll out of here.New jujutsu. Can't wait for next week
New OP and new ED absolutely amazing.
Tatoeba - It's keeping my interest with the simplicity of the story. It's not great, but it doesn't bother me too much. Just a mindless watch for kids.I've watched the first episode of almost everything this season. I'm interested in a little too much. So I'm only going to post the ones that interested me or better.
Monday
Tatoeba Last Dungeon Mae no Mura no Shounen ga Joban no Machi de Kurasu Youna Monogatari -|- Kid born in high level zone and thinks he sucks except he's really strong because he's used to failing at EVERYTHING that's high end. But he does really well in "ez-mode" shit without getting an ego about it.
Hataraku Saibou -|- Cells in the Human Body. Seeing this gave my daughter some information about the body she didn't know previously. Much like the other cells show, it's high on my drop list.
Hataraku Saibou Black -|- Much darker look at the same subject, cells in your body. This one focuses on with diseases or illnesses. The white blood cells are real ninja specialists. These are both kids hows, so high on my drop list.
Yuru Camp -|- Slice of Life about girls that go camping. I think my wife will like it.
Friday
Kumo desu ga, Nani ka -|- Reborn as Spider/Giving it a try. Don't know if I like it yet, but it did keep my interest with speculation about what it could become.
Jaku-Chara Tomozaki-kun -|- Console Gaming and how it relates to the "game" of Real Life. It was entertaining with a fresh spin on an old story.
Ore dake Haireru Kakushi Dungeon -|- This is the Hidden Dungeon show. I liked it and lots of harem possibilities, but the sister love was a little much.
Jujutsu Kaisen -|- The show about fighting curses continues. Good, I like this one.
Sunday
Mushoku Tensei -|- I LOVED this one. The first episode hit me right in the feels after reading the light novels a year ago. Damn is this going to be sweet.
Shingeki no Kyojin -|- Titan/Entertaining
