Starting Soul Land, I keep reading it’s among the best and I’m all caught up on Swallowed Star. I put SS higher than BTTH, even if it’s only a smidgen. Going from Lost Planet, to Godzilla, to The Expanse just made it hard to stop watching and I almost went a couple days without sleep.

1) Swallowed Star
2) BTTH
3) Mortal Journey

I really wish they would adapt I shall Seal the Heavens.

That sucks because it’s better than 99% of most jap anime. Hell there isn’t even anything in recent memory outside 3-4 shows in the last decade that can touch it. Chinese story’s are superior, and in all honesty story wise I’d have to put Japan under China and Korea.

Going to need more than 1 good show for the “season” to not suck. I read it so will wait till season to end to watch it.

Yeah, 1 show. Solo Leveling is great but there has been fuckall other than that even remotely in that tier. I guess SLF if you count holdovers from fall. Apothecary Diaries hasn't started yet so that'll also help but as it is now I'm going to really be stretching to fill my usual 2 episodes a day of viewing, might have to finally dip into the backlog.

Watched the first episode of Solo Leveling. I am here for it, just like the first season. I do miss the original theme song. Every time it hit 'Let's get it' I got super pumped like I was a 12 year old. I am going to be curious how this season unfolds. I like Jinwoo being the badass directly, not via his minions. Though, it will probably just give him cannon fodder to work with and he will still develop against the super baddies and S Tier hunters.

Weakest season I can remember. I usually watch quite a few average shows to get me to 8-10 a season. I'm looking at maybe 5-6 total but that's really stretching it from what I've seen. Will have to go through backlog of Stray Dogs and the remaining half season of DanMachi I was saving for slow times. Started watching Xexx Doughua suggestions to fill the void with BTTH. Really solid shonen type show with the usual ridiculousness. I've watched 185 episodes, so it's been a really good filler.

Shangri-La Frontier is amazing. I don't know how I missed this one.

Why that girl has such unbelievable thirst for Sunraku I will never know.

Gotta say, that one scene in Solo Leveling today where Jinwoo catches the arrow and slices up the archers was such perfectly animated. Good shit.

The reverse isekai style show in the form of a guy that dreams about being an adventurer, but gets killed by a dragon in the dream and the elf he was fighting the dragon with was summoned to modern day earth. Anyway, that show is decent. I'm enjoying it.

Also, it's visually pleasing. At least the elf chick is. She was summoned to earth nude for reasons (?) so the dude bought her bra, panties and clothing. Anyway, it was worth it just for this fan service image. It's a link so as not get a warning. Oh, it doesn't show anything. Just a elf girl bent over, you can see the top of her butt as well as her back.

yea my wife has watched all the current donghua's while i read the novels/mangas. she likes soul land over btth, while i prefer btth

I watched another new show today.
Sentai Red Isekai de Boukensha ni Naru (The Red Ranger Becomes an Adventurer in Another World).
It's VERY silly, and damnit, I enjoyed it. Red Ranger dies in battle against some monster and gets isekai'd to another world that has magic. He punches monsters and they explode. He puts on his ranger suit and explosions happen behind him. Everything is explosions. And people around him are "what the fuck?" about all of it. It keeps drawing attention to the stupidity of the power ranger genre. I like it.

Just got finished watching this first episode.
Yes this is going to be my trash comedy anime of the season for sure.

It's ridiculous but fun.

Don't think its part of a seasonal lineup since it's a Netflix show but Sakamoto Days first 2 eps were A+
