1st one was a reasonable origin movie with a terrible, terrible final act. Just seems amazing in comparison to the other DC movies since it was actually a relatively coherent movie, which you couldn't say for BvS or JL, which was the recent track record when it came out.

the final act was absolute shit. the moment it poops out is when we find out the kindly old man was the big baddy the whole time, then it spirals downward from there.

Yeah, it was like a video game cutscene not a tentpole blockbuster movie. That said the first 3/4 of the movie was pretty good so the sequel has a chance at least.
