Prolly just a cover up story to make use of for not playing in those unfinished stadiums.

Looks like Reus is probably out as well. Bummer - one of my favorite players around right now.
Looks like he used his unexpected spare time for transfer talks with Barca.

Also BVB supposedly hitting Anfield Road in 2 months (10th of Aug.) for you Liverpool fans out there.

As far as predictions go, I think its a little too easy to just pencil in every team that is ranked higher or perceived better on paper.

And im not even referencing the USA here, Im talking in general. There is almost always that team no one talked about that advances out of group stage or spoils one of the more renowned sides from going through. Group C is interesting, as Ivory Coast is in a good position to advance, and maybe find their way into the quarter-final. Same for Cameroon. If Mexico plays like shit and Cameroon and Brazil go through them and Ivory Coast could be upset specials.

Solomon Kolou is a fucking beast, and Drogba is still a decent striker. Not to mention Yaya Toure and some of the other guys they have that play on good club squads. As far as the African teams go I dont see Ghana being able to do much in such a tough group.

Only other team I can see maybe surprising some people is Columbia, and maybe Bosnia and Herzegovina. Swiss are also a pretty decent team and everyone is talking Belgium but we shall see.

I really hope Shinji Kagawa plays well and Japan does something.

If we're talking about upsets Chile might sneak past Holland to qualify. Switzerland and Cameroon as you mention are both good enough to cause trouble.

I'm sorry, I was agreeing with you until you called Kalou a "fucking beast" lol. There's a reason he's playing in Ligue 1.

Looks like FIFA is going to go with the "anyone who complains is a racist" line to duck all claims about corruption and mismanagement.

Any particular reason you want these teams to lose?
ok,

Brazil = arrogant floppers
France = maybe get some actual French players and not imports from former colonies
Netherlands = Robben and Co, do I need to say more
Germany = hated them since the days of Effenberg and Kahn

What's the point of having a bunch of colonies if you can't eventually scrape them for athletic talent?

Enjoying French losses is a national sport is Switzerland, but your reason to hate on the french team is powerfully retarded and has little to do with reality. Out of the 23 players that will play the World Cup, 2 are not born in France: Evra, born in Senegal and Mavuba who is... born at sea!

Not even a single one is born in the DOM-TOM (french territories outside Europe like French Guiana or R?union Island).

You should hope Belgium scores a bunch of OG's then with that train of thought, half the populace thinks the country shouldn't even exist.

It's just generic racism, basically any football team in Europe with black people on it get it.

Kalou is a beast. Not a beast in the terms of skill alone but more in terms of physicality and presence on the pitch. The guy does have 23 INT goals in 63 appearances for the Ivory Coast, and thats what were talking about here, not club football. If you gauge every player on the lead up to the world cup based on club play you are misguided (and besides he wasnt even that bad for Lille last season wtf).

They are clearly the best African team and are in a favorable group. If they make it into round of 16 they have what it takes to surprise some people. Heck, Ghana was a hand ball away from making it to the semi-final in 2010 and this Ivory Coast team is better.

People are kind of penciling in Brazil for a title here but Im not buying. No one is talking about Spain or Germany because of injuries but there are at least 5 teams better than Brazil going into this tournament.

None of those 5 teams are Brazil playing in Brazil, though. The fix is in. Put your money on Brazil or lose it.
