Mexico did great and is definitely displaying a level of confidence they didn't during the qualifiers. Though it was a 0-0 ending it was still a pretty intense game, including what I think has been the best goalie save so far. Even if it's a tie, this is a victory for Mexico.

Yep, definitely a good game even for a 0-0 score. Think Brazil is going to be hurt by Scolari insistence on work rate and physicality over technique similar to Mourinho. Paulinho and Ramires offer nothing other than work rate which isn't what Brazil needed with 5 defenders being played by Mexico. A Firmio or Coutinho could have opened the game up, Bernard has all of 5 games this year for gods sake....

people don't roar when a WR runs down the field with the egg in hand?
If the WR is running down the field without someone tackling him though, it means he's about to score. In soccer, it just means it'll be about 15 more seconds before the ball is turned over and they all start running the opposite direction.

USA chances are already high just because Portugal only have 1 good player right now and he's injuried: Ronaldo.

anyway,VIVA MEXICO!!!

Korea need to stop this sterile lateral passing nonsense and use all the space they are given to penetrate. They have only been dangerous when there was movement.

Since I knew nothing of the US national team up until yesterday, how big of a deal is the Altidore injury?

Question for the soccer experts:

Would any club teams(Manchester United, Real Madrid, etc) be the favorite to win the World Cup if they were entered like a country of their own?

And for comparisons sake, lets say that the Club teams players wouldn't keep those same players off of their national team(i.e. Messi still plays for Argentina, as well as FC Barcelona in this hypothetical comparison).

Basically I'm curious if the top club teams in the world are better than the top individual national teams.

I imagine Madrid/Bayern etc would win it pretty handily, yes. Club teams have so much more time with one another and are able to gel in a way national teams simply don't have time to.

Also, talk about scrappy! Game suddenly coming to life.

Not United because they suck now but yes top club teams would win for sure.
