Alright, now that we're going into the semi-finals -- anybody care to single out any specific games that you feel were exceptional? I'm terminally afflicted by World Cup Fever and would love watch some fantastic games that I might have missed, even if I know the results.

I thought Mexico had a great run, as did Chile. The Chile/Brazil game was good. Belgium/USA was exciting as heck, obviously.

Brillant tactic by Van Gaal. The psychological impact on the Costa Rican players alone is worth it. They probably didn't study the Dutch 3rd keeper. I'm sure it was discussed beforehand with Celissen, not that Van Gaal is the sort of man to put up with divas, anyway.

Only problem I see is that you can't do it again in the semifinal, at least not with the same impact.

Belgium-USA was a fun match even as a neutral viewer, constant action. Very entertaining.

I thought overall it was a great world cup so far, full of great games and action (and some drama). The next three games (no ones cares about 3rd place) should be great regardless of who wins. I do hope Brazil loses to Germany, though - without Neymar and Silva...

While I like soccer and was brought up on it, due to it not being easily accessible I haven't kept up with it at all, but I'm going to join some of the others in keeping up with the EPL and other euro leagues.
