The lack of commercials has just been beautiful, it's truly televised sports as it should be. You can't even have a play in NFL football these days without commercials on either end, especially any time you have a kicking play. I'd pay for this with U.S. sports if it were offered and reasonably priced.

I'm a new soccer watcher and I feel like the most exciting parts are obviously the goals but equally so the setup for the scoring chances. Kind of like hockey how they work on centering the puck, screening the goalie, etc.

Great half. I think Argentina has been the more dangerous so far, though Germany has certainly had its chances. Man, the Argentinian defense is crazy good.

You'll be in for a real treat next month when the premier league kicks back off then. It's pretty fantastic viewing, and with Sanchez coming into the Arsenal team they should have loads of chances. Welcome aboard Redskin.

Great first half, should be 1-1 but its an open game with both teams going for it. Kroos has been poor, and Germany's backline is playing a dangerous game. That said, Muller, Ozil, Klose are playing some decent stuff and those little triangles should open something up soon. Perfectly poised as they say.

So, I am not a huge soccer fan but I have been watching the world cup trying to get in to it and maybe yall can explain that to me? I guess I am thinking about it that if he is going for the ball and he hits it first all is fair game... is that not the case?

Technically yes but a knee flying in at head height is not really fair game

No. Even if you hit the ball first, you have to mind the opposing player. Imagine a sliding tackle, you will hit the ball first almost always and then break the other guys ankle. The rule is like this. Ball first then player maybe yellow, no ball = yellow maybe red.
