LOL thats classic for ya. I remember that era of wands, they were fucking insane. Not sure how they scaled up but I remember people using them because they were such high DPS in low levels you basically never had to use your spells, just wand shit to death with no mana. Can craft one as a caster at like lv 5.

Wanding it I get, kiting it? What? Priests don't have any slows or snares. I guess they could psychic scream it? By the time you get psychic scream you could kill an elite anyway though without the wand.
Any healing class could do it really.

Watched this dude kite Ol Sooty the bear easily with wand/swp. No snare was needed. Needs fix or mage swarming gonna be a joke.
Mage swarming was more or less worthless outside of ZG critters (gators and tigers) & black moreass. Were there any other places you could and not have to deal with leashes and ranged mobs? Those were the only two I ever did, made stupid gold farming BM and selling all the leather / spider silks
Was kinda funny for priests though, sneaking in and farming the princess for blue enchant shards was stupid money early on.

Ossoi reminds me of that asshat gnome warrior that was in drama. During WotlK and maybe Cata betas he’d be constantly armory to attack anyone that disagreed with him. Just sucked all the fun out.

I leveled up two mages in classic era. The primary appeal of the class for me is the AoE spells. I had trouble finding locations to AoE grind on because Blizzard liked to grant mobs abilities that prevented pulling large numbers of them. Private/emu server mages are probably in for a wake-up, because the NPCs there lack their special abilities.
I did find a spot in Blasted Lands though. They leash, but they're close enough together that it works
