On the other hand, maybe wow classic being so popular will encourage someone to make an MMO like they used to be and in 5 years or so we might see one!?
You mean people like RPG elements in their MMO's and not theme park style dogshit?

I'm gonna have to set up a remote desktop to begin the queue process while I'm at work if I ever want to play on Whitemane.
So Blizzard did this the wrong way, what's the right way? Let's assume they can't accurately predict demand since I think that's unreasonable. There are people in this very thread that likely have been unsubbed for years but only became interested in the month leading up to release.
The only thing I can think of is guarantee low population realms will be semi-aggressively merged to maintain a near-full capacity.

And when too many people stick around come layer removing time?Instead of new severs they should have been able to spin up new layers per server to handle the extra people. Instead of 5 they could have easily had 10 or even 15 more layers per server in the short term.
I know it's just what classic is and I don't have time to play it anymore, but I played on a private server a few years ago and got up to like level 35 or so and went to try to do some SM runs... 4 hours later, due to idiots... nothing really had been done, and I couldn't get up from the chair for even 5 minutes. This is not a wife/kids friendly endeavor.
I guess I could play at night/weekends only but I prefer having sex and exercising and sleep.
Too old I guess.
L2 Multitask... have that bitch ride you in your gaming chair while slaying boars...
Same boat. I’m going to try to roll a lock on whitemane but at this rate I’ll see people in November. Also one time I sat down and figured out how much a Scholomance run would cost me in opportunity spent if I billed hours instead .....
Yea, fuck me
I love WoW classic though and may sub just for nostalgia

The same could be said for any hobby you might do instead of working though.
Not trying to convince you though, just giving you some shit.
