Same here. The only upside is if you have an alt you can mail them the satchels and they get free 630 gear thus ensuring you never run heroics with them either.
This is what I did for my hunter. I ran heroics as my DK to kit him out / finish inn quests. By the time I was done I had almost a full 630 set waiting so he could insta LFR.

For whatever reason, I really enjoy running 5 man content. I wish they had a better reward system. Generally speaking, I am more likely to have time to complete 5 mans rather than raids. Some sort of token system like Secret World would be nice. Wouldn't give mythic gear or anything, but would allow you to ramp up in a different manner. Maybe they need ilvl dungeons like follower missions have a 630, 645, 660 bracket or something to queue for. That would be fun.
It would be nice if the dungeons gave tokens that you could use to eventually get LFR quality gear because quite frankly heroic dungeons are way harder than LFR is and are more deserving of that quality gear than LFR is.

I find most of the 5mans pretty entertaining but I basically stop running them once I have scavengers and full 630 gear. After that there is absolutely no reason to run them which is a shame. I would also like mythic level 5mans which rewarded 645 gear.

I've actually had my HD thrash and freeze me up for several seconds just as a mine went down, but I was already just outside of it luckily. The culprit was likely curse updater - I had forgotten to immediately close it after updating because that piece of shit seems to murder your computer after a while with those gay video ads. That or the 10 tabs in firefox that had probably been open for days.

I did finally hit a mine. I disengaged inside of a teleport circle at a 5 stack of arcane out of pure habit and ping ponged into a fresh mine. You rep shit enough times to the point that you can sleepwalk through it and your brain just turns off is my excuse. You just have be aware of what phase you are in so you don't just automatically react like that. Once was embarrassing enough.

One raid, for some reason they kept throwing down the giant yellow heal dome right near the start and someone would blow a mine every fucking time. If you know the shit is going to be hard to see, why aren't you watching extra hard for it? ffs.

PS: Imp gets easy as shit with 25+ people. HP scaling seems off.

So... challenge modes?

I don't like how CM scales you down and it also seems for the most part pug unfriendly. The risk:reward ratio currently seems way off for CM.

Imperator LFR seemed really diluted to the point of almost pointlessness. In SoO the LFR stuff did at least require some effort on the part of the players to get the mechanics right and even then there was the very real possibility of failure. I honestly think each person could have targeted whatever they wanted and run anywhere in the room at any time and things would have been A-OK.

Time to test that theory!

Im tanking it later and I might just kite everything in the room and see what happens. It will be my goal to wipe the raid.

I think what I might enjoy about it is how I actually feel important as a tank. The other fights just feel kinda "meh"; there is no way to really discern a great tank from a "good enough" tank. It annoys me that I have no way to excel.
Tank anything on mythic and get back to me. Most every boss requires you to intelligently play your class or your raid is fucked...though Kargath is fairly easy if you can use cd's properly and know how to handle mobs in the stands + not get blown up by bombs.

is that the same guy that wasn't sure he could tank because it wasn't as glorious as he thought? might be someone else

it's a thankless job. If you are "good enough" to win fights, then you are good. It's that simple for tanks.

In what universe is tanking a thankless job. You are the leader and generally the lynchpin of most raid groups. You are in charge of engaging the boss and generally getting no one killed outside of their own stupidity. In 5mans you set the tempo and if you blast through it quickly everyone praises lord Tanksus for blessing the group with their presence. It is literally the most thanked job in the game.

Some people thank us, but for the majority we're like the drummer in the band. No one cares unless you fuck up.

The most important part of being Tank is making sure you convince your raid team that your job is the most difficult.

If we're going band analogies I'd argue healer is drummer, tank is lead guitar and DPS is bass. Healer being noticeable but figuring out between good and great is often times difficult. Tank is generally just keeping rhythm with some bouts of taking over center stage completely and DPS could be doing its thing or not and no one would notice.

I actually prefer the opposite, I want them to think its so fucking easy anybody could do it, so the day I don't tank and everything gets fucked up they understand.
