I'm too lazy to look up this specific seat, but if his position is elected he's probably pandering for votes (and it'll probably work). No way this gets held up on appeal, and he has to know that.

You may disagree with their justification, but as someone in the industry, they DO need to regulate normal preparers. I spend too much damn time unfucking mistakes they make, that cost people money, to think otherwise. Billybob shouldn't simply be allowed to hang a sign and start doing this shit - it's too complicated. But that's what happens.
