June 7, did they try to time this to have as much Game of Thrones watchers as possible? (s8 ends at the end of may)
Isn't that just kind of what you have to do when that character is played by Sophie Turner?
People keep making this crack, but A: its not like she's had enough roles outside GoT to judge her a weak actress like Emilia Clarke and B: Everyone may hate Sansa for being such an idiot, but Sophie Turner nailed that role remarkably well.
i just read an article and it was quoting the director or whomever it was confirming that mystique does, in fact, die in the movie. he said that he wanted to make a point to show how different this superhero world is in that people don't fall off buildings and then just dust themselves off and walk away. he also wanted to point out how strong the phoenix is in it's ability to kill of such a well known character in the trailer, not even thanos did that.
i just... that's not how power levels work... i mean it is on the meta level, but you don't write stories that way. mystique is really smart and a shapeshifter, but she's not some all powerful character. as dumb as x3 was, phoenix killing xavier at least demonstrated how much of a force of nature phoenix was.
Yea, they know the MCU crew (good jab at it, since that's the shoulder patch of the soldiers escorting the XMen to whatever facility) will kill the current version of the franchise, and insert their own. Expect Marvel announcement in 2-3 years. They arent trying to get another sequel or you bet your ass they wouldnt kill off JLaws character. This movie really means nothing. It's just the last bit of garbage on the trash heap.

I want to know why Magneto was allowed to go free after murdering tens of millions of people. Hitler didnt even kill as many people as he died in those few minutes at the end of Apocolypse.
I feel like the X-Men don't really fit into the MCU. The central theme of the X-Men has always been the distrust and mistreatment of mutants and I don't see how you successfully bring that into MCU given that A: there are no mutants and B: the MCU is generally pretty light-hearted. The X-Men don't have to be DCEU level grimdark, but I don't really think they fit into the MCU even if they use whatever resolution Endgame brings about to start introducing them.

Honestly, apart from the Wolverine standalone films, I've found all the X-men films pretty consistently average or above. I'll watch this one too; not in theaters, but when I inevitably get it as a gift from a friend and later resell after a single watch.
