Looks like the kind of game where lil' autismo explains you the rules and you get one or two turns in before losing 45 to 3.

This actually happened. The kid also didn't mention one rule, then used it to double the score and I immediately lost :p

(Yes it's boring, and I've already forgotten all of the rules)

It's about as complex as you'd expect from a game invented by sub saharan Africans. If you know how to count you cannot lose

My niece and her son were over and her son who is in the 8th or 9th grade had never heard of a short order cook. Never been super popular here but I've ate at places that had them numerous times.

in my area, the last diner with what i would consider a short order cook closed in the 90's. it wasn't whole train car, but they had cut the sections with the 4 window and made that the front walls with the door in the middle. it was located right next to the coal/train yard. in one way, it had a very worn charm, as it had been there since the 50's, but on the other it was a dump. in its heyday, bet it was very cool.

Yeah I would think for something like a place a short order cook would work needs a fair amount of foot traffic. They may still be popular up north or more urban areas. There is no foot traffic in the south for the most part. More likely to see a place that has special parking spots for dually trucks than to find someone actually walking more than the distance from the place and the car/truck they drove there.
