I also had like 10 Wii games that I traded in after I hacked my Wii and hooked a USB HDD up to it. Kind of regret it, wouldn't mind having them around for part of the collection.

You just start PS+ recently? That list is looking light.

And how are the Atelier's? (Like compared to say Persona)

Wife is finally burning out on Persona 3 after finally getting her into it for a long while - and if I don't get her the Vita this month (like 18 big bills hitting this month, its ridiculous) - I was eyeballing them as a possibility.

Should have traded them all in while they were still worth something. As the guy that has almost 1000 CDs(alt/rock from the 80s and 90s in original jewel cases) and about 300 DVDs(in original cases), and probably 100-150 PS1, Dreamcast, PS2, and original XBOX games sitting in boxes in my garage, I really wish I would have sold them when they were still worth more than 50 cents apiece(if that). Not to mention the hundreds, if not 1000+ PC CDROM disks, but they were never worth anything for trade-in anyways.

Stuffs just going to collect dust in a box eventually :/

Heck, the only CD player in my home anymore is in my car. I've got an external CD/DVD burner for my PC buried in a drawer somewhere for the once every 3 or 4 months I actually have to do something with a disk. The problem with collecting stuff like this, as opposed to something like books, is most people will never hold onto the devices that they need to actually play them. I doubt that most people will still have a functional XBOX 360 in their home 20 years from now.

I generally sell most of my stuff on Ebay. Usually only keep the open world type games like Elder Scrolls / Fall out and the shooter I'm playing COD etc.

Lately I've just been using gamefly though.

Yeah, back in February I think? I also skipped a few downloads of stuff I already had.

The Atelier games are not really comparable to Persona except for the fact that they (since the PS3 games in the series anyways) run on a clock and have a calendar system and there's friendships you can build up between all of the characters. They're very lighthearted games. I do enjoy them quite a bit though. Rorona isn't very good, but it gets a lot better from there and there's ahugejump in art quality from Rorona to Totori. Rorona -> Totori -> Meruru is a trilogy. Ayesha is the start of a new series and Atelier Escha & Logy will be its sequel. I'd suggest watching some videos of them. Totori is probably my favorite of the bunch so far with Ayesha being a close second.

Super looking forward to Escha & Logy since it'll have a choice between the two protagonists and you can actually have a guy as the main character for the first time since the Atelier Iris games. Plus, Ayesha was really good and the series has improved its gameplay and systems from each title to the next.

They're worth way more to me on my shelves than the value of any amount of money that I ever could have gotten for them. I love collecting games and they will never, ever be boxed up and put away.

Heh, that's me except reversed. Demon's Souls I found endlessly replayable, but Dark Souls never got me to play through it more than once, and then again on a new character when the DLC was released. Can't knock the DLC though, I wish the whole game had been that great.

Heh - tried to show the wife Meruru today in the store (to slow the cost impact of the Vita - ended up finding out Gamestop had Vita's cheaper than 90% of the recent Craigslist Vitas though so bit the bullet on a used one) and she was super on the fence with it.

She kept asking the stupid woman question of "Is there dating parts?!?!" much to my chagrin. The lighter story doesn't seem to bother her and besides the "dating" question she couldn't get a clear answer on (nor does wikis seem to cover - assuming not since they don't) it's exactly the elements she goes nuts for. So to finish getting her question actually answered - dating elements? Yea/Nay?

No, no dating stuff. There's friendship levels and lots of different character endings and events with each one, but no "dating" stuff. I guess it's similar to that, but definitely not the same.

Yea, don't ask me why "romance" vs. "friendship building" is such a dealbreaker for her - but apparently it is... women...

You should get her to try one, Ayesha would probably be the best choice of the bunch. Also, the Ar Tonelico series probably has what she's looking for as far as Romance stuff - the 2 PS2 games are a good deal better than the one PS3 game though. There's also the Agarest War series, which actually goes through a few generations of characters and you play as the offspring of the people you get together through each next generation. The gameplay in Agarest 0 and 1 is something very few people like though and they're hard to recommend, they're a not-very-good SRPG. The gameplay in Agarest 2 is waaaaay better though (more like a turn-based RPG). Oh, and I almost forgot the Growlanser series, which has a ton of character relationship stuff and endings through out most of the games.

Btw, if she just wants love stories and likes RPGs - Xenogears is the best one of all time, seriously. Lunar 1/2 are probably the next best for that. I also think Grandia 1 is up there.

I've weeded out some of my console ones (but not many) once they made it on to Steam. I'll buy it during the super sales for really cheap, then cash in the console copy before it bottoms out. So I still have the game, its just switched from console to PC.

The Batman:Arkham games being an example.

I didn't do it for Dark Souls, though.

Yea, we did PS1 era, so pretty sure she's done the whole set - skipped PS2 era with the whole MMO craziness. (Xenogears we've done as well as Lunar not 100% sure on Grandia not ringing bells)

And on Argarest we have it, but really found the gameplay unpalatable (1 I think)
