He doesn't need a huge evolution in his passing game. He's already proven to be an effective and efficient qb, despite what biased hyperbole you try to fling. He needs improvements in some areas, and I'm confident he can make them as he gets more experience. If you expect some huge evolution in his passing game at this point you're going to be disappointed
Shouldn't that mean every QB in the league does terrible then or would I be wrong to assume that only good QBs will do good under those circumstances?Stats from 4 drives when they don't even have a game plan means jack and shit. If the offense still looks like this 3 or 4 games into the regular season then we can start making proclamations.
I agree it's a small sample size, but his numbers are consistent with his career averages.Stats from 4 drives when they don't even have a game plan means jack and shit. If the offense still looks like this 3 or 4 games into the regular season then we can start making proclamations.
You would be wrong to assume that you can infer anything from a tiny amount of data. Shit in the second game he was 2 inches away from completing like a 65 yard touchdown bomb to Brandon Lloyd. If he made that catch the stat line would be totally different. As I have said like 10 times in this thread, making proclamations about a player or a team based on preseason is just dumb.Shouldn't that mean every QB in the league does terrible then or would I be wrong to assume that only good QBs will do good under those circumstances?
He does get to play Dallas week 1, though, so that should help inflate his numbers
Its not just that. They had 8 consecutive scoreless qurters in the preseason. You would be wrong to assume that you can infer anything from a tiny amount of data. Shit in the second game he was 2 inches away from completing like a 65 yard touchdown bomb to Brandon Lloyd. If he made that catch the stat line would be totally different. Yeah, lets trade a guy to a team you play week one who can tell them about every scheme they are running and what to expect with every formation. With Bradford going down watch the Vikings trade Ponder to them and then beat the Vikings game one. That would be HILARIOUS.
Preseason is a pretty good indicator of how players will play in the regular season. Like when the 0-16 Lions went 4-0 in the preseason. Or when A.J. Jenkins tore it up in the preseason his rookie year.I guess we will just have to disagree, it may be a small sample size but I don't see huge things changing as others have said. I would be having a fit right now if Brees looked like shit the other night in his only preseason game.
