Preseason is a pretty good indicator of how players will play in the regular season. Like when the 0-16 Lions went 4-0 in the preseason. Or when A.J. Jenkins tore it up in the preseason his rookie year.
You're conflating team performance with individual performance. The Lion's full shitty team from 1st string to practice squad trying way too hard is not even remotely comparable to a 1st team QB against other team's 1st team defense.

Of course most people are just trolling with this preseason shit, but those were terrible examples to refute it.

I think if your first team offense looks like shit in preseason you should have some concerns. I don't know if I'd weigh the defense quite as heavily.

In what way was A.J. Jenkins a terrible example to refute it with? Aaron Rodgers was 9/20 against the Raiders first team. Should Green Bay be concerned?

You act like a teams playbook is "super duper top secret".

Give it a rest, Azeth. We get it. You feel insecure about those Super Bowl wins. It's 2014 now. Stop living in the past, man.

My bad. A rookie WR with the Chiefs is a perfect 1:1 comparison to a QB in his theoretical prime on a Super Bowl contender.
No, my bad. So in your honest opinion, will this translate into the regular season and he'll be a bottom of the barrel quarterback in 2014?

I am ready to do away with the preseason and to bring on the 18 game regular season just so when this thread is getting shitted up, at least it is for games that matter.

Alex Smith and Kaep are the only 2 on that list that people should just accept that they are who they are and not to expect any big changes to their performance.

Tannehill showed decent improvement last year and RG3 may have had lingering issues due to his injury, plus Redskins. The rest were rookies so they still have a shot

What makes him a below average passer in your mind; his completion % and yards per game?
That's a big part, so is watching him play. Stat wise they were the ranked 3rd in rushing offense and 30th in passing yards, with 25th in completion %.

What are his passing yard and completion % with Crabtree in the lineup? What about Brady's during the first 8 games of last season with the rookie WR's dropping balls all over the field? Or how about yard-per-attempt (since you know, Niners run game and D is so good they don't need to throw as much)?

Should be interesting to see what happens with a real WR corps this year, that is for sure. No more excuses on that front.

Would you say the passing yards per game were influenced by the number of attempts, or is he just incompetent? I ask because he was #8 in yards per attempt last year, and #1 in 2012 among players who started more than 2 games.
