The awesome plot twist we all anticipated and never got.
I was thinking maybe neo has a machine telepathic ability. His power would only work on machines and nothing else.

Honestly that sounds fucking stupid.

they should release three versions of the same movie, with 3 different casts, writers, directors, everything and let the audience decide which is the winner, box office gladiator style. Do it for every big comic book movie; one could be regular serious MCU, one could be zany comedy OG Batman mixed with some deadpool, and the final would be like some french auter or japanese anime style.

anyways i'd watch a matrix reboot, the first movie came out in 1999 so its that old but the idea is great and the second and third movie tanked the series, if you could get a good writer to layout the ideas and direction for 2 or 3 movies it'll work together much better. just don't let the wachowskis anywhere near it.

They totally kinda used to do this!

Bug's Life - Ants
Armageddon - Deep Impact

Others I can't remember because I'm drunk, etc.

Yeah Vocano and Dante's Peak was the duo I was attempting to remember... the other two are a bit more recent, but for awhile there it seemed like there was some sort of script-leaking issue going on or something.

Observe and Report was actually a good movie. I know Paul Blart made all the money, but who really watched that shit, except for baby boomers? O&R was some dark humor. Seth Rogan was a legit rapist in that movie. And they crippled some skater kid. Good shit.

Matrix was amazing but the last 10 seconds ruined it for me and then the next two movies cemented it.

Something about him just randomly flying undid all of his accomplishments and feats, invalidated the character arc and growth and made the entire matrix fake rather than him "bending the rules" in a simulation. It was like watching a guy struggle valiantly, desperately fighting to get up the stairs at a building without a ramp in his wheelchair alone, refusing help from anyone who asks, trying to prove he's still a man and he won't be told where and how he can come and go. And then he finally makes it up and then stands up and gets out of the chair and it was just the newest crossfit exercise routine.
Gotten used to it but first time I watched The Matirx I thought the flying bit followed by Rage was fucking corny.

Either make a sequel out of the many possible iterations or I hope this gets sucked into development hell faster than Nic Cage's Superman.

if thats the case then it was never explained in the movie and i never saw it explained by the fag brothers. they just left that shit out there as a Deus Ex Machinima to get them out of the situation and give them a cliffhanger.
The Architect laid it all out in the 2nd movie. The "real world" is a false sense of choice for the 1% that doesn't buy the regular Matrix.

i watched that and i didnt catch where he said there was another matrix outside of the first one. he alluded to the people in zion as the people (zionians?) who did not accept the matrix and once they got big enough an anomaly was found (The One) who would rebuild zion after the sentinels purged the old one. zion is not inside of the matrix , its basically a containment for those who would not accept the matrix. so what he was saying is that the matrix allows for this and in order to keep things going they always had a zion for such occasions. thats what he meant by control. the apparatus for zion is part of the one matrix. it doesnt explain how Neo had his matrix powers outside and it sure as hell doesnt address why he never used them after that one time or why it knocked him out. it was just a plot device to defeat the sentinels. we all assumed that this was another level of the matrix, but its never been confirmed.

It actually makes sense tho. They talk about how humans rejected the "perfect world" matrix simulations etc. and needed the pain/suffering/drama/crap to accept it as reality. So the machines created Matrix versions that had all of that (and could easily include a group of cave-dwelling druggies who like group sex thinking they were going to defeat the evil machine overlords).

I mean, if machines conquered the entire human race and enslaved them and set all of this up, it's not very far-fetched to think they'd be able to create a backup plan like this for people who might not cooperate so easily.

Real world is a backup matrix for the 1% was heavily forshadowed and was a common theory back in the day. Don't know why they didn't do it. It's inception before inception!

what i got was the machines created zion, not a matrix within a matrix. neo had that talk with the one old dude who had no idea how the machines worked in there, probably because the matrix was running them. when Reloaded came out we had the conversation over here (FoH) about it and everyone was talking about matrix in a matrix and i think its why most of us actively hate Revolutions, it pissed on everything foreshadowed in Reloaded. they even started doing that with the architect when neo chose to save trinity and let chips fall where they may instead of rebuilding zion. the other theory was that Morpheus was the previous The One and thats why everyone in zion is a dindu. nope, never addressed.

This post has me thirsty for more Matricks. I offer it as evidence that the masses are in need of a reboot sooner than later.

You are both wrong. The reason Neo has powers outside of the Matrix is because of the anomaly created by the One/Smith which deals with all kinds of philosophical shit. That is why the Indian dude is in the train station. Deep, deep anopolies. All of it is answered when/before the Oracle returns/loop.

There are no plot holes whatsoever. The ending of Revolutions proves that love conquers all. You are too dumb to deal with serious jujitsu spandex titty art and all of your criticisms are unfounded.

There was a movie that was basically the Matrix without the fighting and all that shit that came out at the same time. It was a good movie but didn't get much hype due to the Matrix blowing it out of the water. I think it was The 13th Floor, I remember it being really good, I have no idea how well it aged.

The very end of Reloaded when he uses his powers outside of the Matrix me and 3 of my friends all stood up, looked at each other, and said "second Matrix, this is the best story ever." That story arc would have even allowed us to forgive them for the idiotic Zion rave scene. Then we saw Revolution and realized that the obvious and awesome story was not to be and it went down as the most disappointing end to a trilogy that I can ever remember.
