Just a heads up. Nitrogen infused cold brew coffee is excellent. Co2 infused cold brewed coffee is fucking HORRIBLE.
Bwahaha yeah, those are different tastes in the bubbles man.

Also, the MPLS water is amazing, I'll continue to use tap water.

If you guys are wondering how good or bad your water is, buy a TDS Meter

tds is total disolved solids, basically how much shit is in water. From zero, if you test it out with distilled water (b/c distilled water is pure h20), to holy shit, you're drink that?

Most of the RO (reverse osmosis) on amazon, brings the TDS down to 15.

Once i get a house, thats one of the first purchases for me, gonna hook an undersink RO directly to the fridge.

I don't have room for that under my sink. Oh well...I had a good run.

Water Balance is literally the most boring part of hardcore brewing.

Going from all grain, yes. But if you use extracts, then it does not matter. I dabbled in full on grains and it was a pain in the ass. I liked using the extracts and then flavoring them with steeping additional roasted grains and hops. Made great beer.

You could literally use something like a pale extract and get any style of beer from it just using steeping.

One, it's not just beer brewing, but coffee or even tea.
Two, extract brewing is the opposite of hard core brewing.

I know, im just telling you how I did it. Like I said, I tried all grain and it was just a pain in the ass just to get to the point where the extracts were at at. I enjoyed shit like lagering, filtering, and kegging. Thats where my fun was at. I also liked making my own equipment or modifying shit to suite. Like the wart cooler I made from 1/2 copper tubing. I could get 6 gal of wart cooled to pitching temps in less than 5 min with tap water. Or the lagering fridge I made with a controller, could keep that fridge just above freezing for a month or more.

This was all back int the 90s though, when home brewing was in its infancy. I havent brewed an oz of beer in well over 20 yrs, lol. First came the wife then came the kids and all that shit kind of fell away. Still have all my shit tucked away in the basement shelves. Maybe Ill whip it out when my boys are old enough to have some brews with.

BTW, I got some sodium citrate and made the modernist Mac and cheese and it was excellent. Perfect cheese sauce that is super easy and you can use any cheese you want. I used extra sharp crumbly white cheddar that naturally melts horribly and the sauce came out great.

isn't the adapter to use a paintball co2 can cheaper and better looking?
Sodamod Adapter
But then you are buying a sodastream from the man to start off. DIY is way better even if it is 10x as large and requires a $1500 welder in order to make. (not saying it does, just that a lot of DIY that I see does)
