Yes, because the extra payments go direct to your principal loan. The interest payments on the 30yr look atrocious if you pay the normal scheduled payments. Your interest paid reduces dramatically with those extra payments sent in directly to principal balance.

I'd rather do a 30yr and make a bunch of early payments. Ties up less capital if something comes up in the future where you need / want cash.

Good call. Turning daytrades into swings is a surefire way to get in the red and needing to babysit tied up capital. Stick to your trade plan. You know what works. Be ruthless and cut when it doesn't go to plan and move on looking for your next setup.
