I've seen that and whether it was Strahan holding the record or the guys with 22 they earned their sacks (albeit Favre giving one up for Strahan) more so than a pure OLB. Most of the guys on the list are pure DE's anyway aside from LT and D Ware.

Well, the "logic" is that OLB's get sacks easier than DE's. Which is why so many OLB's get 20 sacks a year.

Deacon Jones said he didn't respect LT as a pass rusher, as well as others, because he didn't line up across from a tackle and have to beat him for everyone of those sacks. That aside, it obviously takes talent, system and a team to earn sacks. I sure as hell wish I had SF's defense but Alson Smith was gift wrapped several sacks this year. Go back and look at the film when Jared Allen or any of those other DE's were beating linemen for sacks vs the free releases those OLB's got to the QB.

I'm sure all on that list had some easy sacks.. I think you're in a losing argument with this sack stuff. The game changes and players/teams adjust. Records will be broke and not always in a conventional way.

Drew Brees doesn't deserve that consecutive games with a TD record because it is easier for a QB to throw from touchdowns. It's not like he has to line up across from any of the defensive linemen and lets face it, some of those TD throws were gift wrapped.

Even if Aldon Smith gets the record I don't think he deserves DPOY over JJ Watt. Watt's season has just been insane.
