There's way too many PI calls in general, but it's hard to argue that one much. If you trip the receiver up you sort of have to call it.

Plenty of times if both defender and receiver are looking back for the ball and legs just get tangled there is no call, inadvertent contact.

You see where that ball ended up? There's no fucking way he catches it anyways. That's why PI being an automatic spot foul is fucking pants on head retarded.

If there was some way to limit when it's a spot foul (because there are definitely times when I think it should be a spot foul when it breaks up an obvious catch that would be a big play in a game) that would be great, but anything you leave up to a judgement call is going to be fucked up plenty of times by the officials.

I absolutely agree that is needs to be a 15 yard penalty at the most. It's gotten way too stupid the last few seasons.
