Dallas needs depth. Elite players are nice but I'll take guys who earn their paychecks every day of the week and four times on gameday. There's a huge black hole in drafted players still with the Cowboys from 2007-2009 that isn't going away anytime soon and until it gets filled up, they won't amount to much.Fuck that. Dallas needs elite players, not a late first and extra second that they can both whiff on.
Ya Dallas could really use a back up Guard right about now. Our starters are so good we can draft for rotation and back up players.Dallas needs depth. I agree Dallas really needs depth but Moon is advocating gaining depth by sacrificing increased odds at elite difference makers. Dallas isn't good enough to do that, really nobody is. Would you give up Dez for an average NFL starter plus a 3rd down rush specialist? Of course you wouldnt and that is what he is advocating. Part of the depth issue is salary cap hell but the Cowboys are never getting out of that.Whose needs O-line bro? Romo doesn't need one have you seen him scramble???
Kidding aside, I don't think 6 OL have ever gone in the top 17 - too many bad GMs that don't prioritize their lines always stop that from happening. One of those guys will be there for the Cowboys if Jerry isn't dumb enough to pass. If not, take Vaccaro.
Moon is still right. Cowboys need elite players AND depth - it's mostly depth at the non skill positions that have doomed them recently late in the year when the backups of injured players are having to play significant minutes (most obvious on defense the last 2 years). The entire middle/right side of the O-line is what happens when you have no depth or developed players - backups get forced to start for long periods of time.
If you think that there isn't two starting OL in this draft left at #31 and #34 that would start on the Cowboys line you should just stfu.I agree Dallas really needs depth but Moon is advocating gaining depth by sacrificing increased odds at elite difference makers. Before I forget, LOL at Famm suggesting Dez hasn't lived up to his draft spot. He is a top 5 WR in the league. There wasn't a better WR over the last 10 games last year. And that was with a fucked up hand.
Dallas is actually really good when they trade up for a player. It is when they trade back that they end up with a draft full of trash.
And Genji, go watch the film.
The same could be said of the 7th round so what's your point? If you think that there isn't two starting OL in this draft left at #31 and #34 that would start on the Cowboys line you should just stfu.
Last 8? games of the year after he was made the focus of the offense (after he started to run routes correctly the majority of the time), he blew every WR out of the water in every stat except yards (only Megatron out gained him). He had at least 1 TD in every game. What statistical categories has Dez been top five in consistently? Maybe I'm wrong, but that just doesn't sound correct to me.
Dropped passes? He has the ability to be a top 5, but way to many drops for a top 5 guy imo. What statistical categories has Dez been top five in consistently? Maybe I'm wrong, but that just doesn't sound correct to me.
I'm fine with it. Flacco clearly best QB in the league based on the last four games of the season. Number one!I see no reason to cherry pick which games when you're looking at a player.
First half of the season he was running bad routes and led to at least 2 INTs when he broke the way Romo wasn't expecting, most famously vs the Bears. Most of his stats are coming in the first half of games as well and he disappeared when it mattered.I see no reason to cherry pick which games when you're looking at a player.
The season before he had the least amount of dropped passes on catchable balls in the league. It will average out.Dropped passes?
Which brings me back to, yeah he's been a pretty good draft pick even though he hasn't quite lived up to his selection. We could just make it easy and say when Dez is playing well and engaged, he has the potential to be a top 5 WR in the league.
He's more than lived up to his selection. I can literally think of MAYBE 6 receivers I'd take over Dez today, and Dez is younger than every one of them. Problem is, Dallas has a void at receiver and I'm afraid it will affect Bryant going forward (having dogshit help). I'm ready to see the back of Smiles.Which brings me back to, yeah he's been a pretty good draft pick even though he hasn't quite lived up to his selection.
