The off-season gets shorter and short for me these days. You have the Sr. Bowl then the Combine in the coming month. Then you have free agency and finally the Draft. THen you have draft talk for a month. Then you have to endure June and July, but that's ok because it's summer time. Once August rolls around its time to visit training camp and some pre-season lovin.

Oh hey look, no one talking about the Cowboys at all? BETTER MAKE THIS CONVERSATION ABOUT THE COWBOYS!!
I'm sorry you don't have the cognitive skills to put together how talking about the best TE in football might be surpassed by another TE is relative to the conversation, next time look for a family member that has more then two brain cells to rub together to help you make the connection.

I like the weeks leading up tot he super bowl, lots of juicy stories come out! Tim Brown says Callahan threw the super bowl

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap100...uper-bowl-loss
I remember that game. I don't think he threw the Super Bowl on purpose, but since Callahan made zero changes to the Raiders since he had been handed the team by Gruden, Callahan must have felt obligated to make at least some changes.

Mostly, I remember the Raiders going into the locker room at halftime. A reporter asked Callahan what the Raiders were going to do to adjust. Most coaches, if they can't think of anything, give out some generic lines. "We're going to control the ball." "We're going to expand our running game." "We need to execute better."
Callahan said, "I... don't.... know."

They aren't getting rid of Romo, he's about to get an extension. There are no alternatives on the FA market or draft.
LOL thank you Jesus for the Failboys continually failing. A Romo extension will secure us a few more years of complete and utter failing at the hands of Tony Romo, the genius failure lol.

Second to the Saints resigning Drew Brees/Sean Peyton the most important signing in the entire NFL is to secure Tony Romo with the Cowboys for years to come LOLOLOLOL

Niners favored by 4. I dont know its gonna be a close game. But I wonder if Evil Flacco finally rears his ugly head? We havent seen Evil Flacco in a while now, and one has to wonder if Joe has finally put him to rest? We will see in 12 days.

I just hope Greg Roman lets Kaepernick hold a few on the option so he can get more rushing opportunities. It sounds dumb giving how well he is passing the ball, but him running the ball only 2 times was kind of a surprise. He should get at least 5 carries.

It's called a read option because he reads the defense, and then has the option to pitch/handoff. The Falcons had a player on him at all times, so he always handed it off. You don't design the option with the intent for the QB to hold the ball.

It's possible Flacco has a bad game in the Super Bowl, or at least a sub par one, but I think his body of work so far in these playoffs have earned him the right to step up in the QB conversation however the Super Bowl goes. He proved himself this year.

A string of two-three good games does not somehow elevate you to a better player just because probability favored you in the playoffs. Flacco has been consistently an above average but not great player since his second year in the NFL and this season was no different. If anything, he's been slightly worse the last two years.

I've been one of Flacco's biggest doubters his whole career and have had many debates about him with friends when out (I'm a Skins fan, majority of my friends are Ravens fans)...and even I think he's earned respect from this postseason. I was the first one to point out before this year he'd only topped 200 yards in 2 of 9 career playoff starts and was given so much credit merely for wins which aren't an individual stat. When you beat Peyton Manning and Tom Brady though in back to back playoff games on the road to get to the Super Bowl, he has to get elevated on the respect level. I'm not ready to call him elite yet (really I think the list was too big already), but he clearly outplayed Brady for the 2nd year in a row in the AFC title game (much more so this year than last even). While I think he had a lot of good fortune against the Broncos (really his completion percentage was around 53% for each of the first two playoff games), he still hasn't turned the ball over and has 8 TD's in 3 playoff games. He made all the big throws in the 2nd half against the Pats when they put the game in his hands.

I will still doubt his ability to be consistently good over the course of a whole season, but Eli has had the same sort of issues from time to time but gets no shit for it b/c he has 2 rings. Even if Flacco somehow played a bad game in the Super Bowl, I think you have to stop saying he's only in the top half of QB's in the league and start saying definitely top 5-10 range at this point.

Eli still gets a ton of shit for inconsistency, specifically this year when he managed 14 points in two games at a crucial point in the season. Ravens and Falcons handed Eli his ass to him, and he got a lot of shit for it. People are blaming the entire season on Eli lol.

So yeah.

Anyway, Flacco is just really good at heaving the ball into the air and letting the refs call pass interference.

Don't know around here read more as "it's just the Giants being the Giants, hoping they can flip the switch"...not specifically Eli. I do agree that a lot of the Ravens offense revolves around heaving it up for Torrey Smith 4-6 times a game and if they hit on a few of those or get pass interference calls, it goes better for them...like when Indy and Denver play the deep ball like absolute shit. But he made all the clutch throws against the Pats, could be the confidence he needs to make that next step.

They seriously need to adapt college football PI rules and while were at it fuck QB's, change the ability to slide and not take a hit, if they want to run man the fuck up. Also lets change the rule where every single fucking part of the body has to be past the line of scrimmage for it to be an illegal forward pass into any part of the body goes past the line of scrimmage and it is an illegal forward pass. They have already made shit tough on the defense with all the safety shit, time to give something back.

Another good one would be if they can't back you up to the full extent of the penalty because it would put you in the endzone then those yards should be tacked on to what yard line you need to get to in order to get a first down. So a first and 10 holding penalty with the offense at their own 5, and make it first and 20 and don't move the ball back. Also get rid of all the penalty's that are automatic first downs for the offense, only unsportsmanlike conduct and PI should be automatic first downs.

Kind of amazing how this is just another football news story. I don't think you could underestimate the magnitude of an NFL head coachthrowing the fucking Super Bowl- has the sport ever seen a bigger scandal? I guess it was 10 years ago and no one could ever definitively prove anything...but fuck, what an accusation to make. How do you put that out there without clear proof? I hope the players involved here really have their shit straight, ducks in a row, etc.

Statistically Flacco had a worse season this year than 2010 and a worse W/L record too.

You're not seeing an improved Flacco, you're seeing a Flacco who got lucky a few times this postseason when normally he wouldn't in the last 5 years.

Game winning bomb past a broncos secondary that completely fucked up the coverage to send the game into over time for a win? Flacco was less than a minute away from being one and done in the playoffs, again.

49ers will make Flacco remember who he really is again, his luck is about to run out. Evil Flacco is about to return to claim his rightful throne.
