Time to head out, hope the Skins D continues to step it up like it has the 2nd half of the year. RG3 v. Wilson and Lynch v. Morris should be fun to watch.

I still fail to see the logic of putting him in at the first playoff game, given how much faster people play in the playoffs. They should have gone with Ponder. Can anyone tell me the coach's point of view on this?
What is the coach supposed to do when his starting quarterback says he can't play because his throwing arm is bad?

Considering it was announced to us about an hour or so before the game, the coach probably pushed him until the last minute to try and get over it too (no, I don't know who the Vikings coach is, is it Friaser still?).

Maybe if they knew Wensday they could have set up something with like 3 running backs and 2 tight ends with Webb and never threw the ball more than 10 yards and did some hilarious and possibly effective trolling of the Packers. But really, not sure what else you can do other than put your backup quarterback in.

That first drive made me think we were going to win the game without ever throwing the ball. And then Webb started throwing the ball. It's ok. Hoping Skov falls to the Vikings in the first round, then we get a couple good CBs later.

So is the Ponder era all but over? Seemed like when Percy was out there he was tolerable?

Why would it be over? WE saw what his backup can do yesterday and they wont be in a position to draft anyone and the Free Agent market are just different versions of the same type of Quarterback that Ponder is.

I don't watch him every game. Do you think he become a decent QB? That's what I am asking.. It seems like there are a decent amount of people calling for them to move on from him.

Yeah, the Vikings will stick with Ponder. I'd consider Alex Smith if he's available. Vick would be intriguing with Peterson and Harvin in the backfield. I'd take a shot at Barkley if he dropped to them in the 2nd, but I don't think he'll fall that far.

But none of that will happen and Ponder will get another year as starter. Really, he was what the Vikings needed him to be for half of the season. Hopefully he can fix some of those issues from the *other* half in the off-season.

Smith is just another version of Ponder and with no one to throw to, will be just the same as Ponder.

Vick? Seriously? Then we'd have Webb playing half the season though Vicks injuries. After yesterdays performance by Webb can you say you'd like to see that?

Ponder isn't great...and he's borderline decent....but he fits into their style at the moment and they have literally no other option that's better coming at them. Bottom line, the Vikings has a much better season then anyone thought they would, they should be happy over the improvement they saw from last season and they are a fairly young team that will...or should anyway, continue to get better.

Smith is a better version of Ponder. The receiver thing is stupid...we have Harvin and Rudolph who are great and it's not like Jenkins/Simpson are horrible. It's a chicken/egg thing...the receivers would be more productive with a better QB.

I said Vick would be intriguing...there's a reason I used that word, ffs. You can't tell me that the idea of those 3 in the same backfield wouldn't be exciting. Practical? No. That's why I used the fucking word, intriguing.

And then your conclusion was the same as the conclusion in my post, so...yeah.

I thought this thread was for playoff teams only? The Vikings aren't in the playoffs.

The receiver thing is stupid? Are you trying to tell me Crabtree, Davis, Manningham and Moss are on par with Harvin, Rudolph, Jenkins and Simpson? You're on crack if you think that. Seriously. The targets he had to throw to in SF are 100x better then the ones here in MN.

Stupid...right.

And no I don't find the idea of Vick to be exciting at all because I know what that leads to. Vick should retire now while his body still allows him to move around unassisted.

Vick has played well with a solid offensive line. The last 2 years they were terrible and should be considered when hiring him. If he has time he can make plays. He still lacks reading coverage but I see where Djay is gong. Vikes could catch lightening in a bottle with him. Like they did Farve for a year. And no I don't think Vick is in the same league as Farve. I just think with AP there his game could be interesting if added properly.

Actually, after looking it up I can't even put Simpson into the top 4 in terms of yardage as Wright had more yards then him this season. Simpson absolutely -IS- terrible and Jenkins is borderline terrible.

Yes. Harvin is better than Crabtree. Davis is better than Rudolph. Manningham/Moss are on par with Wright/Simpson/Jenkins right now. Why are their numbers better? Because Alex Smith is better than Ponder. You must be on crack if you don't think Alex Smith is better than Ponder right now.

That's the thing, the Vikings o-line isn't that good. WE have a few good players mixed into it but Peterson makes them look a ton better then they actually are.

This is where I stopped reading and realized you know nothing about football.

Joking aside, I don't think Ponder is better then Smith, I however don't think the gap is big enough talent wise to go after him.

Keep digging your hole. Nobody is going to agree with you that Ponder is as good as Smith right now.

Show me the post where I said once that Ponder was better then Smith? I even edited my last post just before you posted saying he wasn't. No where in previous posts did I say Ponder is better then Smith a single time.

I'm not sure where you got that idea to begin with, all I said was Smith does the same here as Ponder has, a better QB isn't going to make shitty receivers any less shitty. Jenkins and Simpsons are dropped ball machines. Havin has been injured every year for what....the last three? The only reliable guy we have is Rudolph.
