I can say with a straight face Flaaco is better then Romo, however I can't help but break out into laughter when Araysar tries to claim Cutler is a good QB.

we havent talked about tony romo for a few hours, life just doesnt feel complete

so ...

http://cowboysblog.dallasnews.com/2013/01/28501.html/

a poll amongst dallas fans has flacco losing by 1% in discussion as to which QB they would prefer.

Tony Romo 50.64%

Joe Flacco 49.36%
Better to poll which team's Offensive Line and (to a lesser extent) Defense you'd rather have, because that's pretty much what it comes down to.

Flacco and the Raven's offense took off after they benched part of their O-line and shifted the line around near the end of the season, they were terrible during that 3 loses in 4 games streak before those changes. Impossible to do anything the Cowboy's O-line, it would just be shoveling shit from one side to the other.

You'd still be pretty happy with the season overall though even if you lost the Super Bowl right?
Hard not to be. I was originally saying I'd be happy just winning that wild card game at home. Each win has made the promised land seem more and more realistic though so obviously I'm not going into this feeling like "oh well we will probably lose, but what a year!" Definitely have hope for more good seasons now, assuming some good drafting and if cap management doesn't become too much of an issue.

Im not hating on Flacco, but I kept waiting for him to have that mediocre/bad game where the defense had to lift the team. But it just hasnt happened. He has lifted the team himself, and has been historically good this postseason.

So as a Niner fan I'm hoping a Evil Flacco appears!

This does not compute with me. And I don'tthinkit's a spoiled fan thing really. I mean, I'm "happy" with every season, because it's the NFL and I just enjoy the game and all the trappings. But if my team is good enough to make the big game there's no happy after they lose it. I'm happy they got there and all, but not happy with the season. If that makes any sense...I dunno. '10 when the Packers beat the Steelers I enjoyed the season, but I hate settling for less than winning that last game. Just a sense of what could have been I guess. Or maybe I'm crazy, this all made more sense in my head before I started typing.

A number of studies have shown in the Olympics that during the ceremony, the person who wins 2nd is sadder than the person who wins 3rd by a significant P-value. So yeah, its a psychological thing.

I don't mean right after the game. If you get to the Super Bowl you are going to be pissed/disappointed if you lose the game. When you're right there, you want to win it. I mean 4-6 months later looking back on the year and where you realistically thought your team would have finished (and probably still would have with a few PI calls and Rahim Moore not forgetting how to play football).

That's just it though, I don't look back on 2010 any differently than any other year that my team didn't win the Super Bowl. Only 1 team wins every year, every other team loses. I get feeling hopeful for franchises that have been perennially bad for ages like the Browns or Cowboys. I just don't think fans of any team that expects to make the playoffs can feel like a year wasn't somewhat wasted without a title. I don't even mean teams that win all the time like New England or Baltimore. Even the Bengals fans should be a bit let down next year when they don't pull it off.

It sort of depends on where your team has been in recent years. Last year I was disappointed that the 49ers lost the NFC championship but I was thrilled with the season after making the playoffs one time in the last 10 years.

Just be a Houston sports fan. When the team is finally good enough to make the playoffs, you can be happy with the inevitable playoff loss because hey, the team was finally good enough to make the playoffs!

The Ravens are not going to lose, so it's kind of a moot point.

Hypothetically, your team loses the DPOY, your best corner, your MLB, your WR's brother dies in week 3, and your best defensive lineman plays all year on 1 knee, amongst other things...like firing your offensive coordinator... I doubt you expect a tremendous amount. Certainly not back to back AFCC games and a shot at a ring.

Only 1 fan base is totally satisfied at the end of the year, though.

Firing the offensive coordinator was one of the BEST thing about this year though. Hopefully Caldwell continues to call good games next season and this isn't just a fluke.

Yes, expectations factor in, I was expecting some sort of drop off going into week one and even more as the year went on looking at the effect of our personnel changes/injuries and the strength of the schedule. But also knowing the team had it in them to get back to the last round potentially.

I had no expectations for the Orioles so a playoff appearance for them was more of the "happy with the season, even though it would have been great to eliminate the Yankees" feeling.

lol Edko.

Are you going to disappear again for 5 months after the Ravens lose?
