I have to give Alex Smith credit. Even though he is probably done as a Niner, he has done a fine job turning his career around. He did it the right way, (as his upside is basically non-existent, has a noodle arm and small hands) stopping the dumb turnovers and making better decisions with the ball, leading to a high completion % and low INT numbers. He didnt try to be a gunslinger, or a Sanchez type idiot who is just throwing shit up in desperation, he just protected the ball and stopped overthrowing dudes by 15 yards (even though he still does that every now and then).

Its kind of funny that fans of other teams are actually clamoring for him to be their guy. Dont get me wrong I think he can help someones team, Its just weird as a Niner fan hearing about Smith being a commodity after how terrible he used to be.

Anyway, my prediction of Rodgers wanting vengeance spilled into Simmons' mailbag and everyone seems to be riding with that sentiment. I do think he throws for 300+ and multiple TD's I just wonder how good their o-line holds up and how much trouble they have stopping Gore and Kaeperbro on the ground.

I don't know how many teams are clamoring for Smith... Vikings fans would be pretty happy with quite a few backups at this point.

just wondering what happened to their mighty D.
Justin Smith got hurt? That dude is a monster in the trenches. He will never really have insane "stats", but the confusion and such that he helps create has been very noticeably absent with him out for the past few weeks.

I agree that the Saints-49ers game last year is one of the best games from the past 10 years. Unbelievable finish.

If the Smith Bros are healthy enough, I think they'll make it a long day for Rodgers. Niners have to rest on classic run and defense to win tomorrow's game. If it becomes a passing game, the Packers have this.

That said, I think the Packers have this one.

I meant it more as what people might say if my hypothetical scenario of Rodgers going off tomorrow comes to pass, thus removing any issue of who was playing QB.

Rumor has it that Aldon Smith was playing hurt the last couple games as well but they kept it quiet and he's supposedly doing better now. If both of them are at least 80% they're going to slow down Rodgers.

I can live with the 49ers losing to the Packers. I would rather that happen than going to the NFC championship game against Seattle and losing. On the other hand, beating Seattle in the NFC Championship would be glorious. If that game happens I'm going to have to watch through the cracks in my fingers.

Famm, your posts were really cracking me up. Thanks. Care to avatar bet? Tried to get you to do so the last time they played (didn't call you out specifcally, just asked any Ravens fans to it). If not, it's cool.

That said, I don't see it being that close of a game. Denver's D manhandled them last time, and Peyton has an amazing offensive line and a run game. Not to mention two receivers that have over 1k receiving yards each and Decker over that last two seasons has caught around 21 TD. I just don't see it happening, not with our D, being at home and not to mention that I bet Lewis spent his imspiration on that last home game they played against the Colts.

Denver wins this 34-19

Only way I really see Denver winning is if the refs hand them the game. Which is very possible considering how biased the league and the media towards Manning and against Baltimore. They already made sure we are the only team in the playoffs to get a short week so the fix is already in.I think we will overcome this corruption to secure victory though.
Oh yeah, forgot to point something out about your post Famm... So the league made sure you were you were the only team with a short week? Seriously? Denver was already forcasted to be playing this Saturday. That meant the lowest seed that won last week would be playing them. It was a toss up of either the Bengals, Colts or the Ravens. So maybe the Ravens should have lost?

Oh yeah, oblig: Not sure if serious...

Yeah it's gonna be Denver NE and NE going to win a close one to go back to Superbowl.
See, now this makes sense to me. Granted, I don't want to see NE win, but I will not be surprised if they do. Just hope its not a blow out.

Edit: I have to work while the game is on today, and was wondering what (if any) are my options for streaming on my phone? Can't stream at work, its a big no no. Thanks in advance.

I don't so much have an issue with Harbaugh's decision to go with Kaepernick as much as I do with his timing. He basically waited until the second half of the season when his team was in playoff contention. That seems like a terrible time to see what your other QB can do.

Well Kaep went in due to Smith being out with that concussion. After seeing Kaep explode he had a QB controversy, he would have been criticized for any losses with Smith as well.

Yeah, Harbaugh was in an absolutely no-win situation. It's obvious he hasn't been entirely sold on Smith, despite them looking like "pals" during pre-game and on the sidelines. That was obvious by them attempting to court Peyton Manning in the off-season. So, he's wanted to go in a different direction for a while now. Kaepernick has a higher ceiling and can run a lot more of the "college" style plays that he and Roman like so much on offense. Smith would've lost the Rams and Seahawks game as well. In fact, I think they would've lost the Patriot as well with Smith under center. Had that happened, losing the Division would've sparked all kinds of new controversies about how Harbaugh should've stuck with Kaepernick's "hot hand".

Harbaugh absolutely made the smart decision. We can release Smith in the offseason and not have to pay a huge sum of money to a guy who had essentially peaked. He's probablyjustgood enough to win a Super Bowl with a monster defense, but without one, he's an above-average backup QB.

Fucking Niners with 6 all-pros. 9 pro bowlers and 6 all pros this year. It feels amazing having an embarrassment of riches on defense. Willis and Bowman being All-Pro's again is incredible (both ILB's making the All-Pro team playing on the same team two years straight is crazy) and Goldson and Aldon Smith making the list is really a huge accomplishment.

No one can hate on the all-pro team.

You have today completely wrong, otherwise I agree with all of your picks 100% except I think Atlanta might win and the Texans could win.

Aww shit son, just got me and my buddy tickets to the game on the lower stands. Only downside is he's a faggot Packers fan. First playoff football game I've gone to though so should be awesome.
