McCoy still being in the game isn't too bright. Hes already at 24 carries, hes never carried more than 273 times in a season. He is not a 300 carry guy, much less 400, and is definitely not a guy you should be using when the game is well in hand.


EDIT: like that last play. one bad hit like that can mean broken ribs and done for weeks.

I will never shit on the utility of the preseason again*. I think more than anything this team was just not ready to play a football game that counts. Regardless of the improvement in the second half I'm still believing this game is 99% lost...but what if they were stalling the Philadelphia offense in the first quarter instead of getting embarrassed? All of the obnoxious fumbling and interceptions, etc. Time will tell on what condition Griffin is actually in, but I'm hanging this shit directly on the shoulders of the coaches. Utter malpractice to have a team show up and open the season like this.


*I mean, I probably will, but still.

Redskins got slightly better but mostly this is due to Eagles defense totally taking their foot off the gas.

I think the stalling could also be a product of players that assumed the game was over, just as the Redskins found a rhythm, the Eagles ceased to maintain theirs.

I love the sense of urgency Josh Morgan has on this drive down 2 scores with 2:30. Whole fucking Redskins team for that matter. Do they know that they need to score two touchdowns to win this game?

Well the narrative you won't hear about the Redskin's game is that the 3rd quarter missed FG ultimately came back to haunt them. Had he made it, they also would have kicked a FG on the drive that ended on the 4th and 15.
